Thanks for the input. I think I'll stick to GW2 for now.

Hah. That's not even possible. This is massively better than FFXI's balista implementation. Balista was hard to get into, hard to find people for, and was completely unbalanced. FFXIV's is easy to get into, easy to find people, and surprisingly balanced outside of a few outliers. On absolutely no grounds is FFXI's possibly better.
Sad to see you go, stranger!
But >_< Well, is not to throw it down but it is new, and while it may still be fun, possibly not enough to play the game just for it =O
However, game is still worth a try, if you can look past all the bullshit stuff. You acn still have TONS of fun.
Long wait for match to start, no respawn, CC fest, animations not able to finish while chasing, etc. Terrible I say, terrible.Hah. That's not even possible. While I can't comment on GW2 PvP the above poster is completely wrong and has no idea what he's talking about regarding PvP in this game.
OP is already subbed, there's no way his forum cookies would have lasted this long. You're not allowed to post when your sub expires (though you can for a little while after until your session cookies expire).
I never wait more than a couple minutes to get a match on a DPS, no respawn is not a bad thing, it is last man standing not deathmatch, Who gives a crap about animations, wonderful, I say, wonderful.Long wait for match to start, no respawn, CC fest, animations not able to finish while chasing, etc. Terrible I say, terrible.
//somewhat overacted to imitate the quoted poster, but really. it's not terrible, it's fun. I can't believe people are raging about the prep timer. come on, it's not a big deal.

A quick look at my persistent cookies on this site with Chrome WEb Developer tools, tells me this site will not log me out until October 2, 2014 (which is when I logged in persistently, so the cookies are good for 365 days).
the last time I unsubbed from XI (same forums as this really) i was stopped from posting within a few weeks. Same on these boards after 1.0 was shut down (because oops, they forgot to disable that)
So there may be something else to it.
2.1 was make or break for me in regards to FF14. And i'd give the patch a 8.5/10. I came from a PvP heavy game (rank top 10 PvP on my server for past 1/2 year) and the PvP they added in ff14 is enough to satisfy me (I.E- not retreat back to Aion).
Oh I am currently subbed. I just deleted the game, because I am not completely maxed, but close to it. The only reason I would reinstall would be for pvp. The pve although fun, is not really challenging. Once you down it, it's over, and as I understand it, Coil is the toughest dungeon in here so far, and I am 5/5. I liked FFXIV, it's a good game, but going to wait until they release some more stuff to do. Not much going on right now.Sad to see you go, stranger!

No game can please veryone, I dont like current WoW PvP: too many instant CCs, Casters running around spaming without casting at all, different schools of cc and stunlock you to death, lame class/spec balance, etc etc.
Haters are haters, but no one force you to play FF14 PvP tho.
