Sorry but I'm failing to see how losing thunder has dumbed the job down lol cuz I can assure you, it wasn't harder pushing 1 extra button every 18 seconds or so. It's just different is all.

It is more than pushing 1 extra button every 18 seconds. In most situations you had the opportunity to use it on more than 1 target. Then you had to weigh the cost of mana and DPS in each unique situations to determine if Thunder was worth casting on several targets, instead of doing something else entirely. In end-game content, you had to consider the mana consumption, because if you over-used it, it could run you out of mana. Since Bane spreads Bio2/Miasma/Bio, it is fairly brainless to have those up and spread the damage around that way, but where you go from there could be a complicated question depending on the situation. And if your goal was to squeeze every last DPS you could into an encounter, those decisions have to be made on the fly and almost instantly in order to perform well.
In short, it makes you actually think. Now its just like herpderp Bio2/Miasma/Bio/Bane then Ruin until you get bored.
