I think it really depends on the player.
I have done AV only twice (cos I hate it) first with a Warrior and we completed it - only few problems. Second time I got a PUG Paladin, and I could not keep him alive for sh1t. I don't know what was happening with him. He quit in the end. I didn't feel bad cos I accepted that whatever was happening it was just a bad match between the 2 of us (for whatever reason)
I have done WP loads, and the Paladin feels easier to heal than the Warrior.
But, my Warrior friend who I much love running with, has an ability that means heals work better (or something?) - and he is like the best to play with. With that and Divine Seal I got mana to spare tarting about with Holy

That's odd about the WAR being easier than PLD on AK. I LOVE AK and the only time I run into trouble healing is the Demon Wall because of the constant moving around. I usually have one or two people who never quite figure out the floor thing. :P I am really curious about what must have been going on with the PLD though. Puzzling...
(Never mind the AK thing...just looked at where you said AV, which I also love. I get to use Holy during the boss fight)

keep regen on the tank and SS him when he is at full health. SS is great on WARS.

SS is just as effective on PLDs with Shield Oath as it is on WARs with Defiance. They have the same eHP.
WAR has 5000 HP. PLD has 4000.
WAR gets a 900 SS, total 5900. PLD gets 720, total 4720.
WAR gets hit for 1000, left with 4900. PLD gets the same hit for 800, left with 3920.
Both tanks are now at 98% HP.
WAR requires 100 HP, PLD requires 80.
WAR's healing bonus means it needs 83.3333... raw heals. PLD still only needs 80.
Any situation where you'd SS a WAR, you might as well SS a PLD, too. If you wouldn't SS a PLD, you might as well not SS a WAR.

Sometimes Warriors seem like they are full of holes, no matter how much you throw at them it just won't go up! I don't know if it is because they are not using their abilities or because they have more HP to balance less defense, where paladin has more defense less hp and damage mitigation skills.
WARs strain me a bit more than pallies do but I don't mind healing either. Just have to tweak the way I heal a little to get the desired result from either of the tanks. I got E4E recently and it's a blessing for when WARs want to pull large groups of mobs. SS works wonders too. I typically give WAR SS before the pull; then wait for the WAR to get through one combo to build up hate then Cure I + Regen right after; then I throw SS on them again and resume my dps or heal up the group. On rare occasions that method proves too slow for some WARs for some reason and if that's the case then I am forced to spam Cure II which I hate doing but it is what it is... I think it's a gear/skill problem but I am still unsure.

As a scholar, I actually prefer to heal warriors over paladins simply because the buffs of a warrior compliment and boost our inability to drop spike heals similar to a whm. It makes my peepee feel bigger when I can casually cast my simplest heal for over 1k non-crit.
--plus, warriors have more HP which compliments my base 25% lustrate.

Just put Cure 1-3 in the same place on every hot bar. so when you switch its always there :/ problem solvedI use Divine Seal ALOT. Some people will tell me I'm depending on it but I'm not. It doesn't cost to use it and doesn't take long to recharge so I'd be a fool to not take advantage of it. I honestly never use Presence of Mind but its mostly due to the fact that I am on a PS3 and its difficult to switch hotbars. Switching causes a lot of fatal mistakes. This is what I pretty much roll with right now.
