Shield Oath and Threat adjustments

So I noticed something last night and I wanted to see if anyone else has noticed this.

I did a DR last night and got Praetorium. The other tank in the group was a fresh 50, no DL gear and Aeolian Scimitar. Definitely not what you would call geared. I told him go sword oath because i'd handle tanking and just watch for group mobs if any peeled off for a healer.

I'm Full DL+Relic and I strugggllleeedd To keep agro from this guy. Even on single target mobs. My rotation is solid for maximum threat. Pre-2.1 never had issues with agro except with the occasional Speed Run and BLM Agro pull.

Anyone notice anything wonky. Then...I pull Shield Oath off ran with Sword for a bit, when I put Shield back on I felt like a huge agro increase happeneed..I was usually twice his threat level.

Almost was thinking that by not re-establishing Shield Oat between Duties that maybe the affects weren't being applied?

It is possible.
It has happened in other games where a buff needed to be re-applied.

could be a bug, I'll keep that in mind when I go and run dungeons now.

I was one of the DRGs in that run. I noticed I could pull threat off you extremely fast early on, esp for your gear level. There definitely had to be something going on, I will be keeping an eye on this as well then when I'm tanking. If things start to look fishy I might just reapply shield oath just in case its not applying the increased enmity.

Sword Oath has always pulled more single target hate than shield oath.

I know you can pull some decent threat with Sword oath but there is no way someoen shoudl be able to pull that much threat from me as long as i'm not jerkin around...which I wasn't lol.

Just watch it. Wondering if you have Shield oath up in one instance..go into another if it needs to be re-applied. Seemed like once I dropped it and re-applied it I didn't have any issues.

And small game Zdub...that we were in the group together lol.

I also noticed something was very off last night during twintania. At first i thought the healers were tired from staying up for the patch... but when i checked my combat log i was taking way more damage from her auto attacks than usual.

Then it happened - i was 1 shot by death sentence at 7.1k hp (i was topped off too) which has never happened before with foresight up and 500 less max health.

Though this couldve just been bad luck with taking the absolute max damage from death sentence. But reading your story gives some sense to why her auto attacks were hitting me so hard.
Might be something for tanks to watch out for if you feel something is off until this is confirmed or not.

Eh ... No....

Determination did nothing about threat/enmity (its obviously)

Determination not help with damage output either, I test with DTR 302 with food vs 256, different is very little, 1-2 dmg different min-max (might be bad luck RNG)

Only thing you need to have higher and better enmity is STR, which noticeable more than DTR.
