That is so not the strat to beat it. it risky bet to do it that way, and the dogs give whoever their opponent is the stack.Actually, the first boss is remarkably easy if you do everything the rest of the game has told you not to do to beat it. Namely, take your sweet, sweet, sweet time.
The adds spawn based on % of health of the boss, from what we could tell, and it very quickly becomes overwhelming when before you realize it, there might be 8 zombies running around, along with the mechanics of the debuff stacks and the aoe circles and whatnot. The trick is... TAKE IT EASY on the boss. Just let the tank hit the boss for a lot of the time. Have DPS only worry about the adds as they come, and only touch the boss once the room is clear. Seems like the adds put debuffs on the tank when the tank tries to pick up any of the adds, so the tank should only ever bother with the boss. Long as the tank hugs the wall when the Giga Smash or whatever it is comes in so the knockback isn't a problem (it barely hurts, too), it's a very easy fight. It's all about slow and very steady, not trying to force through it. My group learned that the hard way after the first 3 wipes. When we scaled everything back and took it as a slow burn, it felt effortless and we were shocked by the difference.
I'm sure people will get the trick eventually on the 1st boss.
