What was bad though the prices...

    $249.99 usd
$249.00 euro which converts to current exchange rates $363.50 usd....

So in Australia I'm expecting it to be $400...or more..

Considering at initial release the PS3 60Gb was $600 US, but here in Australia it was 1k....

That's what happens when your Pound is stronger than our Dollar.

Yea the Euro and pound are both stronger than the American Dollar. In fact I'm pretty sure the Canadian dollar is even stronger than the American dollar nowadays.

    Uhh... no. Just. No.

The US Dollar isn't as strong as the Euro or British Pound as you can see ONE ($1) US Dollar can only buy 0.68 Euro (that's 68th of 1 Euro) and only 0.61 Pound (61st of 1 British Pound).

When you convert it the other way:

    1 EUR = 1.46 USD

    1 GBP = 1.65 USD

As you can see here, the Euro and British Pound are worth more because ONE Euro (1 Euro) can buy $1.46 USD (One dollar and forty six cents American Dollars) and ONE GBP (1 British Pound) buys $1.65 USD (One dollar and sixty five cents American Dollars).

God... where did you learn math...

I got bored so I typed up the whole announcement of PSVita for some LS mates, I don't know if anyone here will find use in it but here ya go anyway. I can't wait for my PS Vita!

So I am very proud to showcase for the first time in North America the successor to the PSP. What you’ve come to know as NGP, our next generation portable, is officially named PlayStation Vita. So what does Vita mean, Vita means life and we are confident that PS Vita will be the first product that truly blurs those lines between entertainment and your real life empowering you to play, interact and connect like never before. The features alone are cutting edge, two analog sticks that give you dual shock-like control of games. A stunning multi-touch 5 inch full lit screen, front and rear touch pads, 6 axis motion sensing technology and of course my favorite feature… front and rear cameras allowing for augmented reality never before seen completely blurring the lines between reality and interactive entertainment.

PS Vita will have both WiFi and 3G/WiFi models for ‘on the go’ entertainment. This will allow for everything from social networking to location based gaming that help you find and meet friends for brand new experiences. Now, of course, having such an impressive set of network features and ambitions requires the nation’s fastest mobile broadband network. And we’ll be partnering with AT&T as the exclusive carrier for PS Vita in the United States. Now customers with an AT&T Service plan will also have free access at more than 24,000 AT&T hotspots nationwide. Together we will deliver breakthrough entertainment experiences that bring you closer to your entertainment, and of course closer to others. More information including pricing and the carriers for the other territories will be announced soon.

PS Vita offers and truly unique social experience and there are a few key reasons why we say that. With a feature we are calling ‘Party’ users in the same game room on PS Vita can voice chat live over headsets or the built in microphone no matter where they are or what game they are playing. And it’s a perfect way to stay in touch with your friends and chat during game play from wherever you might be. Another critical step forward is a social connection tool for PS Vita that we’re calling ‘Near’. Near allows you to connect and play with others around you, recommend content to them, compare trophies, and a verity of other social connection tools for the Playstation network. Both Party and Near will power the connected experience for PS Vita and we’ll be unveiling more specifics on them in the very near future.

Social connecting and community elements are a critical component for the PS Vita. This is the best proof that with PS Vita our content experiences and networks the world is in play.

----At this point Scott comes out and talks about the PS Vita for a moment and shows some of the demos for the games you can play on PS Vita such as a new Uncharted game, Where you can use a combination of controllers, buttons, touch screen and the 6 degrees of axis movement to move the character. Ruin, Mod Nation Racer, Little Big Planet, and Street Fighter X Tekken were also shown. Then a demo reel rolls showing many other games that are going to be brought out for the PS Vita. ----

Thank you Scott, that is some truly amazing content… and best of all virtually every publisher has signed up for making great content for PS Vita.

And I am pleased to announce this entire package of all of these incredible features will be available starting from the holiday season this year.

And as I mentioned there will be two models available at launch, a WiFi only model and a 3G/WiFi model.

And I am happy to announce that the Wifi Only Model will retail for $249.99, 249 Euro and 24,980 Yen.

And the 3G/WiFi model will retail for $299.99, 299 Euro, and 29,980 Yen.

PS Vita will revolutionize the portable entertainment experience. It takes the best technology from a gorgeous all lit screen to front and rear touch pads, and marry them with the Playstation network and the industries best games and services.

PS Vita gives you the most complete entertainment package in the palm of your hand’s, and the power to interact with the world around you. It is an experience that you really need to see and feel to believe. With PS Vita the whole world is really in play, so I encourage all of you to come down and experience PS Vita in the arcade a little later tonight as well as at our booth all this week. Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you very much for your time.
