Sounds like the post limit was made for people like you, with nothing important to add, other than just being an attention whore. Carry on.
A giant rip-off. But I guess you may have a point there.
You didn't add anything here either except for a personal insult for speaking my mind. Might as well not waste your post count here, pot, not like you contributed anything with that post.

This is why OP. There is no thread that does'nt descend to this if alive long enough.
It's like another version of Godwin's law; Rokien's Law: As any FFXIV thread grows longer, the likelihood of personal attacks approaches 1.

Doesn't bother me much. If you ask me I rather we still have the ability to post without restrictions even if we gonna encounter personal attacks along the way. I think those are inevitable it's internet after all.
And I welcome that.
I become very obnoxious when posting on forums and have this stupid tendence to spam... limiting it to 20 posts a day seems to help.
It seems to help other people, too. Compared to WoW General forums, these forums are much calmer.
I'm never saying that Yoshida is making the game too casual again.

Interesting position. You feel we should be able to post without restrictions? Does that include homophobic, racist or otherwise abusive posts? Those are inevitable, it's the internet after all. (NB: I don't believe you actually think this, but it's a logical extension of the argument). Not everyone is as thick-skinned as you appear to be. Some people (younger players, perhaps) might be particularly vulnerable.
Some restrictions are required, the argument is over where you draw the line. SE didn't initially make the rules this draconian but this community turned the beta forums into a wretched hive of scum and villainy so SE tightened them up for the release version. The limited posts and character limits are meant to focus people into not wasting their posts on non game-related matters and promote the use of the like button rather than repeat posts saying the same thing.
In a way, we are paying to use these forums.
So y'know, I'd also like to have no restrictions. This is the worst forum I ever come across.
The whole, "Yeah, it's to weed out bad posts, or repeated posts." is dumb. People have been complaining about houses for days.
It weeds out nothing. We do have mods y'know....That is their job. Delete posts, that is why we have the yellow report button.
You're going to get hardasses no matter what you do.
By restrictions I meant daily post limit restrictions. Generally, I think a person should be able to say anything they want and it's up to the community to tell them they are wrong. If it comes to harassmet, threats and abuse the moderators can always give them a holiday from the forums when people report them.Interesting position. Trust me, this place is rainbows and sunshine. It's more orderly than a german accountant's sock drawer. It's happier than christmas in Disneyland. It's more well mannered than a Pride and Prejudice cosplay convention. In a way, we are paying to use these forums.

In comparison to the Beta forums, that is.
On a more serious note, the forums got better after the restrictions were introduced, though how much of that is due to the restrictions is up for debate, some of it is likely that the kind of people who won't pay for subscriptions are the ones most likely to complain the most.
Think the number of complaint threads about housing is too much? Without the restrictions on how many topics someone can create in a day, this forum would still be flooded with them.
