I think the scheme is fine. If a guild wants to be the first to buy a house and get the biggest one, thats a 120mil+ sink, thereby taking out a rich guild relatively fast. The other option would have been to put up houses cheap and have that same guild buy everything up and sell it for even higher prices. I just find it funny so many people are crapping their pants because they can't build their perfect house on day 1. I miss the days when people just played the game they were given instead of trying to change every stupid thing because it doesn't fit their personal agenda. What's even more laughable are people canceling their sub because of side content to the game not being attainable instantly. SE is doing fine IMO, and im glad i have something to strive for for a few months instead of being handed everything and then choosing to quit out of boredom.

Dear Yoshida-san. Please take note. When your feature starts being ridiculed by web comics, it's time to give a long, hard look at it. I hope it won't take Famitsu's comic to do the same before you actually notice.

Not to sound like im complaining but if ur worried about players buying up all the housing because they are rich would the obvious answer be to make it so fc's could only purchase 1 house and give the rest of us a chance tobuy a house instead of just these wealthy players you are trying not to let buy everything. It just seems idiotic too me that your solution to stopping the wealthy from buying them all is to make it so only the wealthy can buy them. In the meantime the rest of us have to wait to get content which we have been looking forward to for ages whilst the wealthy get to buy it all up before we can get achance. I mean come on how many months we going to have to wait for this new content we got promised just because we are not hoarding gil.

Hello strawman argument. If you really want to come argue from your nice server with much lower prices, at least do so with a real argument, and not with fallacies, because they don't really do much to support what you say. They only demonstrate how weak your position is.

Most people aren't complaining because they can't get the "biggest" house. They aren't complaining because they can't build the "perfect house" on day one. They're complaining because they can't afford *A* house. Not even the smallest plot in the least desirable place, due to extremely overinflated prices.

Housing hasn't been advertised as "side" content. It has been hyped as the most relevant part of patch 2.1 by the former President and CEO of Square Enix himself, on every single live letter from a year ago to now. Square Enix can only blame itself if a lot of people had high expectations for it. Housing has been hyped for December 17th 2014 and people want to be able to enjoy at least the entry level of it by that date, not in March the 17th. And they're right to expect that.

Though the thing is the legacy servers having more gil held by legacy players meant that there was more gil trading hands if you were selling things and trying to make money, which is what SE was calculating things by.

So if you ignore interacting with other players then it is reasonable to say that it's harder to make the gil for buying a house on a legacy server, but that's ignoring the gorilla in the room.

Though this isn't to say the house prices aren't pretty high.

Frankly - NOBODY cares about your "explanations" or "justifications" of this nonsense. The issue is simple here - FIX it NOW or face a LARGE loss in player base / subs paying your sallary. Stop dangling carrots in front of our noses ("possible" transfer legacy -> nonlegacy). Remove the pricing disparity and decrease the prices. Nobody cares about how much the plots will cost in 3 months - we've all waited already at least 3 months since the release (some even longer) and were saving hard to be able to afford the FC housing just to be slapped in the face by YOU!! Stop covering your incompetence to manage / supply enough servers and remove RMTs by weak attempts like this - it's simply pathetic.

If prices were cheap enough, someone would be a beast and just buy 100x the land deeds, and then sell those for profit. It's as if they pre-emptively figured out how people would try to gamble what is potentially a new market, and did something about it.

NO! Limit is one plot purchase per FC - indeed you can still have up to 8 characters on the same server and if you'd be really determined you can all level them up, create additinal FCs and level those up to required level 6 as well but surelly even with all the GIL in the world you'd not e able to do it in matter of hours or even days so that "excuse" is simply weak at best! You can also use someone's else to purchase the plots for you but all this is way to complicated anyway.

That's an assumption and a wrong one. People that have a lot of money hoard it. They don't just go around distributing it. As a matter of fact many of em will just keep hoarding by taking it from players that have less with mercenary runs and what not. The high housing prices actually encourage rich players to hoard money even more and grinds circulation to a halt because everyone's trying to save every single gil.

It's not in any way easier to make money on legacy servers than on other servers. Basic knowledge of economy is enough to understand that prohibitive prices demolish the circulation of money instead of encouraging it or distributing it. it's even harder to make money now that the prices have been published.

But I do find it hilarious that someone from the server with the cheapest prices feels the need to come here and tell us how it is on our servers lol.

giving people a choice would benefit all dont you think? the only reason i can think they making it so expensive must be to keep people inside subscription

when enough people give SE real cash maybe it would lower the prices for gil houses too because real money is what could fund house servers

Or SE could "fund" house servers in the first place but would like to lie about it and have it as a cash shop feature claiming they can't "fund" it, so people like you will believe that and pay moar.

How about using the subscription they get to fund the stuff? You know, like every other P2P game on earth...
