At least in WoW you received good gear, granted they haven't had much time to implement much endgame content with the fixing of the battle system and all, but come-on I hope they really didn't think that the HNMs they put would keep us busy, personally I hope these dungeons they are about to pump out make me crap my pants.

I don't really see the need for every quest/boss to be basically a loot pinata. I have yet to see a game with heavy emphasis on gear distribution from quests and bosses do anything but devalue all crafting but consumables... Not to mention it makes no sense when a beetle drops a sword.

Most definitely agreed. Just read the site updates and letters from the producer, it's coming. Like the Materia system they are talking about. If SE knows one thing it's how to create truly epic gear around the rate of 70/30 crafted/dropped and the drops are RARE, HQ Staves FTW!. WoW, Aion, Rift do not, crafting is unimportant when it should be the MOST important. WoWnFriends all just make gear look cool and have a higher DPS spec. In the end all you do is slightly more damage. I was literally a carbon copy of every other Assassin in Aion. Same armor, same weapons, same stats and WoW is no different from the people I know still playing.

The most rewarding thing about defeating a boss, notorious monster, side quest or what have you is the mega improvement of your abilities, traits and/or character above all things (which makes the game fun). Like in real life, you don't expect to experience the same situation or episode of your life over and over again and even if you do by chance- you have experience to know what to do. The most fun thing is to gain more, something new and improve your stats in FFXIV. SE explained a long time ago the character development would not just be limited to vertical stats but also horizontally across all "Classes" and expanding your physical strengh and experience (which now the DEV team wants to abolish).

What can be said different from FFXI is that even there isn't as much to do compared to a much 'older game', as a community with prior experience can say there's enough to keep us busy connected. Hell, I'm wondering if most of you are still connected to Vana'diel (FFXI) and appreciate the difference of gameplay and continue the supporting other players. I'm linked FFXI:::FFXIV, Sylph:::Mysidia.

We need more side-quest for sure. I'm good with the game mechanics and all but they seem to be more focus on UI and AI. My PC is a pretty decent one and didnt cost much to built (under $500) so I think with the current specs it should be able to run on the PS3 just as normal settings permit if not better.
