pld vrs warrior

so who here thinks that pld is going to be replaced by warriors for endgame content? i personally think pld will still be the best tank for endgame and my friend being a warrior in full allagan set feels teh same way as well. although he is sticking with warrior since we think warriors going to be more beneficial to a pld and the party instead of just pld duo. what you guys think

Using 2 paladins over PLD/WAR will never be viable, if not only because your LB builds more slowly but you lose out on the DMG debuff warrior now provides.

As far as WAR vs PLD, I think an average/above average PLD will be more viable than WAR, but a BiS WAR will outtank a BiS PLD.

Yeah it stands for BiS.

Again, it depends on content. 4-man/solo-tank 8-man will depend on the tank's gear, but for 2 tank content i believe PLD as MT and WAR as OT will be the best build, with WAR popping in and out of Defiance when needed.

in 4 man (or single tank) content, I believe it will be easier for a similarly geared Paladin to tank, than for a Warrior. However I believe a Warrior will be able to accomplish the same tasks as well (or better?) it will just be harder. There is more to watch for with Warriors as far as resource management.

in 8 man (dual tank) content, I believe that Warrior & Paladin will be a stronger combo than 2x Paladin is currently. I also feel that 2x Warrior would be a bad choice for most content as the cooldowns to maintain debuffs (damage / resistance) will not take most of the secondary players time, and the primary will not need to be maintaining 100% up time in agro-combo.

That being the case, I believe that Paladin will be better in the OT (off tank) roll when running War/Pld. Paladin brings more to a support tank role than Warrior does. I would also prefer my secondary tank to have better short duration, stronger mitigation to allow for the party to flex around having lost a player, again paladin has more to offer here.

Pld: Maintaining debuffs like Flash & Str Down, while helping support the MT with Stoneskin (and rebuilding MP with Riot Blade)
War: applying damage down / Slashing resist down debuffs
