Any bets on if the servers come up on time?

In WoW maintenence is usually 7 hrs or less. It was 9 once and the forums community was really pissed off about it. 24 hrs is an unthinkable time. They better give 1 free play day.

I'm thinking when SE says a "maximum" of 24 hours down time, that's kinda like some other company saying new features are coming "soon"

Forum mods removed a thread of a guy spreading rumours / trolling that the servers were up just now. Did they ban him?


The server will be up anytime soon yet i'm feeling sleepy and hungry now after waiting for soooooo long.

Not sure how it happened but I don't see why you don't believe him. The hub has been updated, new quest markers are all over the place, the picture shows the new FFXIV menu bar in the bottom right. It's legit to me.

If you look at his photo close enough the chat is showing "Welcome to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn" instead of "Welcome to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Awoken".
I'm not saying he's lying, but the screenshot puzzled me.

The servers will be back up when they are able to be brought back up. No point in doing this countdown to 24 hours BS, and you people wanting 1 day free play time...............I..........Just.......... The words "ungrateful bastards" spring to mind.

I expect the game will have to be brought down at various times today for a good'ol "hotfix" or two after we go live. I will be genuinely impressed if they don't as this is a rather large patch approaching an expansion in size, and don't create all that stuff and be able to test it all together like live people can. I'm off work today so will be happy to get some game time in but fully expect the entitled kiddies to be wailing at the moon and gnashing their teeth.

Wolf Hammer that was why I made the joke about Black Tuesdays. Extended maint even for WoW as most people keep falling back on isn't unheard of. And after all the maint involved with early access and release week this is actually laughable downtime. Besides I'd rather the game be stable then a horrible glitchy mess.
