Why are Black mages so upset about PVP?

I don't care? I want PvP to be fun in a way it's not going to be the way it is currently designed, so I am opting out. It doesn't matter which class I PvP as, as long as it's designed entirely around denial, it will not be fun. Either you're not having fun because you're always losing, or you aren't having fun because you're steamrolling everyone.

I'm waiting for someone to make an MMO with PvP that has absolutely no crowd control abilities whatsoever. Losing control of your character doesn't feel fun or challenging. Getting locked down by CC spam is miserable. It removes your agency completely. You don't have any realistic counter. You just die.

It feels cheap and frustrating.

It's a damn shame Cover is basically useless due to it not working half the time. It's funny how they "buff" Cover by extending it's range {still shit) but don't address the issue with the current in-game bug.

I give it a week before the Tank forums are filled with PLD tears in regards to PvP.

Can you give us other insights of the 2.1 beta testing, if you don't need to worry about NDA? I guess you don't need to worry much, since you let this detail slip.

On which planet do you live? I would love if what you said is true. But it is not. It might look like that because the numbers above the mobs heads are very big each time a BLM does something, but both MNK and SMN does in the long run deal more dmg than BLM's. It is just that they have smaller numbers than us that gets added more frequently.

well burst is usually more reliable then sustained DPS for pvp. will have to wait and see here but assuming it will be the case.

Yeah, roll a blm and realise how many casts it takes to gut up and running on AF3 and then how long you can stay there. Add in our cd timers and our casting time, and ANY dps worth his salt can match us EASY.

It's funny cus you main a PLD and don't even know Covers been bugged since forever. Goes to show you've never used it and think it'll work like you read it on the skill description.

If you know how and when to use Cover, its a lifesaver. Try to use it when it can't be used, or if the covered runs around like a headless chocobo, and it will fail

Oh you know, like the fact that sometimes it'll bug out and the Paladin will take straight unmitigated damage. On top of the stuff that you mentioned.
