Is anyone else bothered by "Fresh Meat"?

I dunno, I've done a lot of pvp in a lot of games, and smack talk in mmo pvp is nowhere near as bad as the respect and rivalries that friendly competition tends to entail. Especially when this isn't even faction based pvp. This just waters down the experience greatly, and I honestly think only PvE players who PvP on the side would think this is a good thing. PvP has its own community. Not knowing whom your fighting makes that community stagnant outside of the "Look at me" value of stat progression.

Imagine if you couldn't see your friends in PvE. They all said "Adventurer" or something, and looked the same. It's just a watered down mess. You remove the personal aspect of player-vs-player gameplay, but this is player-vs-avatar instead. I know most of you can't be bothered to care because that's the kind of forum this is, but it's still a legitimate complaint, and one born of experience, and disappointment.

Fresh Meat could have been an option for the player wishing to mask their identity if such a concern was theirs to have, but it shouldn't have been forced on everyone.
