More accurate comparison would be having to faction grind for 3 months before you could even enter CT XDQuestion for everyone saying that the housing prices are just fine and a 'goal' to work towards:
How do you feel about the loot lock outs on CT??
What if CT had been released but you couldn't actually get any loot until you'd run it exclusively (meaning doing nothing else) for 3 months?
Would that bother you?
(Rhetorical question) Is empathy that difficult to muster up?
I got to admit that the pricing almost killed me. Been a casual player with my small free company those prices means that we will not be able to get a FC house.
Over time, I expect the price will go down. I read a lot of post in this thread and agree with a variety of people.
I don't think the pricing should be low enough that the majority of the players would already have enough Gil to purchase on the first day. It is fun to grind a little bit in order to get was we want, but making it too hard to get is not better. There is a fine line here.
Instead of putting the price so high, why not make the purchase of the land fun. Put the land cheaper, put an upkeep fee. Also add some quest lines that would make you gather a building license, get some material for the building of the house etc.
That been said my FC won't get housing, but will still have a lot of fun. I will wait for the personal housing, if ever it comes. My favorites MMO was FFXI, now FFXIV, hoping for the best.
What really has me confused about the pricing is how 2.1 housing was flaunted to be the new purpose for crafters/gatherers and to get rid of the excess of materials. It's going to be impossible for any of that now.
This housing type of,stuff people really like...im one of them. You ether understand or you don't. People like to have a space they call their own.I really don't understand all the QQ regarding housing, specifically why people even care. I keep reading posts about how people were really really really looking forward to housing as if it was the only thing they were interested in. Are you kidding me? Having a house serves no purpose whatsoever. It's a completely vain nicety that has no impact on how I play FFXIV. What do people even expect to do in these houses...? Walk around and maybe do some /sitting and /dozing on the beds? Wow, that sounds like fun. Or maybe I can craft inside the house because the environment in which I craft is so important!
If the only thing you were looking forward to in 2.1 was housing, then I highly suggest you play a different game--something like Second Life.
Well, I couldn't find the exact quote, but several articles have summarized Yoshi-P (probably from a Live Letter): "Some examples of possible bonuses that producer Naoki Yoshida has mentioned include a 25% bonus to experience points earned, making crafting faster to level, to aid in HQ crafting or to increase the rate of gil acquisition."
Who wouldn't want that?
For legacy people, first divide your Gil by 10, then raise the price tag by 10.
Now all your previous hard earn Gil worth 1/100.
Maybe there are a lot of rmt in legacy world. BUT, this is all your stupid SE fault for not managing the server properly and wtf to have legimate players to suffer due to your own stupid shit
I said it first!

Your FC only needs 10M after 3 months in your server. I believe you guys can do it.
Unless you're aiming Day 1 purchase of the largest land (apparently many think that way) while you can't afford to sit at home 24/7 and farm crap.
For me, I have my life and I'd rather log off once I finish my tomestones farming, crafting, or maybe daily quests in 2.1![]()
Well with a 50 man guild, you could make easily make one to five million a week. So it's possible to earn 50million at the 90 day make, which could buy a decent medium house for casual guild on the more pricey world. Not something you do when you log in tomorrow but it's a reachable goal.In patch 2.1 you'll be able to generate a bit more gil. Battle classes can earn an average of 15,000-18,000 gil per day, and with role bonuses in the Duty Roulette this can exceed 20,000 gil
