I realize this might not be in the right forum but maybe other servers can use our idea. This was originally my plan to alleviate some of the boredom before 1.18 but with the help of other LSs I've made it into a server wide event.

What is it?: Individual foot race starting in Ul'dah, through Mor Dhona making stops at checkpoints(camps) along the way, and finishing in North Western Coerthas. (The route will not be revealed to contestants until the day before the race)

Date and time: Saturday June 11 at 3pm Est/8pm Gmt

Total prize pool: Proposed budget: 50 Million gil*. Total prize is still being negotiated.

Rewards: 1st place: 25 Million gil or 50% of total accumulated prize
2nd place: 12.5 Million gil or 25%
3rd place: 7.5 Million gil or 15%
4th place: 5 Million gil or 10%

Entry fee: Free for members of ULC LSs. 150k for general entry but newer players may be allowed to enter at a reduced price. 50k discount for those willing to run the entire race in nothing but a subligar.

Desired attendance: 50+

Rules: 1. Must use a rank 1-10 job and wear no equipment other than main hand and/or subligar. (DoW,DoM,DoH,DoL)
2. Use of ANY abilities is prohibited. This includes movement/defense enhancing abilities.
3. Use of magic and items is prohibited.
4. No teleportation except for returning to an aetheryte after being KO'ed.
5. Contestants must wear their Death Race pearl they received at registration. Must touch all checkpoints on the map and the winners will be determined by being the first 4 people to cross the finish line.
6. As this will be an individual event, no parties will be formed.

Important dates:

June 10: Registration closes and race map will be revealed to contestants.

June 11: 2pm Est/7pm Gmt final race prep. Contestants should arrive at the starting line at least 20 mins before the race. (Ul'dah gate of Nald)
3pm Est/8pm Gmt Race begins.

~There's no limit to how many people from a single LS can join.
~Entry fee can be refunded should a participant not be able to make it.
