You know, as someone who didn't care about housing in the first place but yet agrees that the prices seem a bit...steep (and that's putting it mildly), I just want to say this. Yoshi-P definitely has one of the biggest pairs I've ever seen. It takes a lot of fortitude to stand up to an angry mob and tell them (in elegant terms of course) to suck it up and deal with it. I feel like that's a trait that's missing from a lot of people these days.

You know, you can have more than one character in this game. And I'm not even playing the legacy one anymore.

Personally, I don't care about FC housing, but to me, it seems like if there are only going to be so many FC housing lots per server, it would be best if the most active and productive FCs got them, not the ones that were started by a couple of friends who just wanted to be able to say they own/run an FC or just have their own private FC. That 20,000 a day was an estimate for players who only participate in battle content. By basing the cost on a server-by-server basis and setting the bar well over the average FC's collective gil on that server, the FCs that are non-productive but have more gil than a far more productive FC could still be outstripped and surpassed by that FC that would likely have more active members and get more use out of FC housing.

I can't believe this community is crying over guild housing and not the lack of endgame and backwards progression.
A house that only the guild leader is going to be decorating.
Not even crying about them not having their own home
The price of a guild house that is meant to have money pooled together and earned.

"YoshiP is saying it was set this way so players don’t buy out all the lands right away and end up in situation where none is available. RMT estimated gil has been removed from their amount, they checked how much gil the FC’s have and got the estimates."

What happened to new instances opening up? This implies the number of housing slots are limited since he's worried about players buying up all the land. So.. by the time us smaller FC's can even afford to buy a house we can look forward to seeing them all sold out? So.. the reason the prices are so high is because he decided to go back on what he said he's going to implement? (New instances opening up.)?

I wouldn't really say he's going back on it. It's more they are releasing the content before it is ready so they want the players to suffer if they actually use the content. Unjustifiable dick-move either way. Especially when it's the primary material used for promotional value in all the Live Letters for the past year.

"OMG, u mean the only thing we ever talk about in the Live Letter is desired by our playerbase?'
"But it's not ready for that much demand!"
"Put it out anyway... Just make it near-impossible and at least foolish to participate to cover our tracks on not preparing for it."

The problem is in the math. A FC of 50 people on a low-population server can pool their storyline money (and maybe a handful of materia sales) to get a large house. On a Legacy server every one of those 50 members would need to make `9 million gil from profiting outside the scope of the game's progressive content. But with the exception of illicit means, the only way a player can accumulate millions of gil is by removing millions of gil from others in the playerbase. With the outrageous prices stimulating a buying freeze, the extra millions needed becomes even more difficult; and 20k a day isn't crap in comparison to all 50 people needing 9 million gil.

#1 Only the Large House has any planned utility outside of being a Vanity piece (the basement). Purchasing a small or medium house will only hinder progression to a Large House. Granted a FC with a population under 50 may not logically fit a Large House.
#2 They have already shown the small house on the Live Letter. Getting 50 people to pool 1 million gil each for a shack that if even 10 people entered the instance it would be overpopulated in comparison to it's size? Based on the footage, a small house is 10- members or it's a cluster-fuck. Medium Housing 40-.

New instances would mean new hardware to make room. I'd say if it turned out that there was much larger demand for FC housing than what they currently have hardware for, they would likely go to the trouble of accomodating that, possibly still on a by-server basis.

Except that's just it. He DID say they were going to do that. He claimed when the houses were bought up new instances would form. His very response states that if the houses sold out there'd be none left to buy. So the previous statement was a lie. As for the hardware bit? LOTRO is much much older than FF14 and has this very same feature.

My favorite part is he basically says "Hey, all you need to do is farm for 7 days a week spending about as much time as you do on your real life job to gain enough fake currency to buy an empty plot of land that you don't actually own and belongs to 500 other people also."

    What an ego we have...

How many are complaining about the price for small first class plots?

It's the price for large plots that is insane.
