Saving your Gil?

I know there are plenty of threads out there complaining about FC housing prices. With that being said, and being a leader of a small FC of about 25 people, I have had members tell me that with these prices they feel like they need to save their gil for the future release of personal housing. It's not that they aren't a team player, but they are afraid that by donating their hard earned gil to help the FC buy a house then they will more than likely be broke for the launch of personal housing. Does anyone else feel this way?

I feel the same way, we had a FC meeting to try and discuss ways to make gil for the FC housing costs and this was brought up. People don't want to donate in fear of outrageous personal housing costs.

I imagine a lot of people do. I wouldn't be surprised to see personal housing prices cost 100s of millions either.

Personal housing comes in about 6 months. and will cost way less then FC housing. your FC worries for nothing.

And in 6 months you'll have more then enough gil to get a personal house also!!

And what happens in 6 months when they "re-evaluate" the average players gils and since RMT hasn't been banned it is 10x or 100x times what is on the servers now. Then FC housing will be crazy expensive as well.

There's like 10-15 active people in my FC and we're on the more expensive non-legacy tier. I really don't see the appeal of feeling responsible for that kind of share of money. I think I'd rather just save for a personal house.

The same rich people skewing the numbers for FC housing will be the same people skewing the numbers for personal housing. I'm sitting on 10 million and apparently I'm considered rich compared to the average player, yet I know a number of people who (legitimately) have 30+ million. Given SE's logic regarding prices, you can bet personal housing prices will be just as ridiculous and inaccessible to the majority of the population.

Well that is a valid concern but I have the give what you can spare mentality. Now on my server the house price kinda sinks that philosophy but I only ask people to give what I am prepared to match. It is still a game a person saving up for something is their personal goal as leader I think you should do everything in your power not to jeopardise someones elses goal. But if they still want to help there are other ways like spiritbonding where the FC provides gear for them to spiritbond and the materia is sold and proceeds go into the bank. But having someone have to work for something that requires them give up what they want shouldn't happen charity shouldn't be forced.

Housing is clearly a work in progress. No storage or the kind of amenities one might expect. My FC is glad to wait some time until they produce a more finished product worth buying. ...and like others, we are also curious to see what personal housing might be like before dumping gil we don't have into this.
