For the guy to be so upset with changes he didnt experience yet is just asinine in itself... not trying to white knight SE or anything, but like the "range dmg in PvP is effected by distance" he went on to say "am i just supposed to stand there like a derp while a melee wails on me to do full dmg?" where does it say you have to be close to do full dmg? Does that even make sense? In 1.0 and even FFXI they made it so ranged attacks did MORE dmg from the farther away you were... velocity is a thing... Also, i think the housing prices are pretty fair, it's not supposed to be a thing that EVERY FC has, sure everyone wants one but you need to work for it if you want it. People complaining because they want it now can go somewhere else with that mess.

The guy's rant is totally justified. This patch is a letdown by an out of touch development team. Finally, just because some people think the development team is making awful decisions, that doesn't mean they should leave. If enough people complain loudly enough, Square Enix might realize how badly they are screwing this patch up and fix it. Sadly, Square Enix usually won't admit they made a mistake until their business itself takes a financial hit and then an executive has to come in and clean house like after 1.0.

There are alot of FC's with minimal members, we dont know how the instance server is built considering we will be getting our own instance (the house) which we have full control over, plus.. for how many FC's are on the server do you think there are going to be enough plots for every single one of them to purchase one wither they have the gil for it or not? I honestly think this could even make FC's want to join forces to obtain a "guild hall" if you will.

Why do you call it Elite FC? Isn't it hard work they put in to it to obtain the goal set by the FFXIV dev team? You are disrespecting any hard work any players will put in after this patch towards housing. They could do what you just suggested, but I am sure they want people to feel good about their investment. If you read the interview by Game & Watch, Yoshi-P looked deeply why those numbers are presented down to the last detail.

@rtpsoulx I completely agree with longer distance > more damage, it is like that in Final Fantasy tactics as well, that is something I will create a thread towards the dev team about.

I am not getting any logical answer behind such behaviour and predicting that I won't because this is just going back and forth like any other arguable threads. I myself, like to think long-term, if I do not like the direction FFXIV is going, I will not play anymore, its that simple in my opinion. I wouldn't post my disagreements and upset players along the way that do look forward to the direction it is heading.

You could also ask "Why should everyone have a house?"

Personally, I think it's good for a lot of players to not have access to the housing so easily. Everything is life is wanted instantly and without much work. Once upon a time, you had to save up your pennies to get things you wanted, and you had to work for your dreams with many never even realising it. Now, it's all high speed and people are never happy with what they have and are always wanting. Sure, it's a game and people "want to escape reality", but the same attitude is present in real life too. Games should be about challenges and goals, not about having it easy. Here, we have a huge goal: save up some money and work for a house for your friends/FC mates to call home. Why is that a problem for most people, I'll never know.

The game has to be rebalanced to fit the goals of the development, not the player base. They may pay the money, but if you gave everything that players wanted and in the way they want it, the game would be broken.

In the end, though, it's a hot topic now but then the complaints will stop just like they have every other time a change/patch has come out. And when 2.2 patch notes come out, it'll happen again, and the process will begin a new. I think people just like to complain these days.

Hes allowed to voice concern, generally a lot of the pople who complain are passionate about the game and worried about the direction. Also your fighting game comment, as a long time competitive fighter, there is plenty of complaining, with SSFIV to ultra street fighter IV people are already complaining about kens step kick being -1 and ken and yang being top tier already. I'll use BB of plenty of makoto players moaned about the nerfs she got, and plenty more including my self moaned about the lack of buffs she got in CP, people continue complain because its poor balancing on a competitive level. So yeah fighters are always complaining, hell look at F champ hes always bitching about dormamu, and the half the community of MVC3 complains of vergil and mori doom.
