Gathering leve locations can be very unclear...

So something that frustrates me and proves to make gathering be even more miserable and reduce the incentive of partaking in it is how sometimes a highlighted area can be smack dab in the middle of a wall. The issue with this is it can result in you not knowing which side the gathering location is and provides numerous amounts of frustration due to long walks if you happen to choose the wrong side. It's already absurd how the game makes you walk miles just for one location at times, but this just makes it worse. Gathering in this game has yet to be something that doesn't make people cringe at the mere thought of it. I hope they fix the general bland, sluggish, and monotonous nature of gathering.

I failed a gathering leve once for this very reason. Thought it was saying it was in one place but when I started running in the direction I thought it was, the leve failed. As for the gathering minigames themselves, they could stand to be more engaging. The fishing minigame in Link's Awakening is more captivating than the system currently in FFXIV.

If it's a mining leve of course it's going to be in the middle of a wall.

I can't say in my 43 ranks of Botany I ever had a hard time finding a tree. Only issue I ever had was Iron lakes Kabolds blocking the way. Some stealth may be required.

Hell at least it's a challenge.

try finding an r20 angler fish thing nested in a pack r3 marmots in gridania on your way to a tree. Also to the OP use the lay of the land skills for your gathering classes it gives locations by yards. yalms= yards. I use it allk the time when I'm grinding btn or min. I love doing this ^^.

I remember before they moved some mobs around Malboros would camp R2 and 4 trees in gridania lol.
