I want open world PvP.
People who say FF games dont have PvP, um... duh, then why was Seifer attacking me in FFVIII? That was OWPvP practically.
People who say FF games dont have PvP obviously dont understand the FF franchise.
What is PvP?
With that statement your basiclly saying every game known to man has pvp even Mario......... Hey why is bowser attacking me this must be PvP?
Finally someone gets it!
This is a multiplayer game. You can't transplant a single player experience into a multiplayer experience and expect to retain the same mechanics.
An MMO is missing out on a lot of meaningful conflict and drama if it excludes players from killing eachother. Conflict and drama are driving forces for any good story. The only reason not to have OWPvP is because of how much structural work it takes to constantly balance the punishment for PKers. And quite frankly SE is so slow to implement basic features that I think balancing PKing issues is just way beyond them at this point/
No thanks. Not here for PVP.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
What you are missing tho is this people don't mind the pvp they just don't want them constantly changing the game around for pvp's sake. They want the pvp not to be a big part of it but still be there. I like pvp i did it alot in XI i would like for it to return a similar way to XIV just don't don't mess my game cause the pvp needs moar balance. Finally someone gets it!

The PvP vs PvE balance is why my friend quit WoW cause his class he liked to play got changed once again cause of PvP sake. That's why alot of people are against pvp, but like i said i would be fine where pvp was an event and it didn't interfere witht he main balance of the game.
Well, all I can say is: There's a Coliseum in Ul'dah.
I would suggest that once it gets implemented, that there'll be like "Duel Request" and the option to disable Duel Requests, so if players don't want to duel with anyone or risking to press the wrong button while they're doing something other, they can just ignore it.
Dueling outside the Coliseum would be a cool idea to train your character for the Real Deal in the Coliseum.
Anyway, I just... possibly can't see an open world PvP. I can't give explainations on that, because that's a feeling I obtain while playing the game. You easily can say "...oh hell no" while playing.
I personally dont like open world PVP, it brings about a whole lot of negative feelings between players that just dont fit with the whole unite together to defeat the common foe theme. Im fine with pvp being in the game wether it be random duels at the arena, company vs company battles just make it light hearted.
