Launcher error, cant start

The maintenance was scheduled to start at midnight pst Dec 16, from the time of this post it was 6 and a half hours ago. The maintenance will end on Dec 17 at midnight pst. You know when you opened the game and got that screen with all the wording after signing in for the last 3 days? That was regarding the maintenance so quit complaining. If you don't understand the timezone google it. There is no reason to not know that today is in fact the 16.

Yeah, but what they have displaying when you open the game was/is Dec 17th. Forgive some of us for assuming a patch (be it a large one) would take 24 hours. I personally have not experienced or know of any patch or even whole expansion that took so much downtime. Expansions these days are almost seamless or take 30mins for a server restart. Even free to play games don't even need 24 hours to push out a major patch or expansion.

With so much time I hope there won't have to be many, if any, emergency down times following the release of this patch.

They did say the maintenance time on the log in screen and how long it would take and the reason it needs so long is not because of the content in the patch it is because of the data center updates, wich they also said.
