So everyone is just going to keep flaming and completely ignore the fact that he just confirmed the new content is going to be adding new forms of gil creation? No one has even the slightest clue what kind of new gil sources there will be, or how much the payout of those sources will be. For all we know treasure hunting and beastmen activities could net us tens of thousands of gil a day. I'm getting really sick of people judging the overall ramifications of content balancing when they don't even have any of the actual numbers in the first place. I suggest everyone stop thinking they know what's best and at least TRY to wait until AFTER you have actually had a chance to interact with a new system before jumping to conclusions.

The concept that Yoshida had of "creating a lively community of neighborhoods" while simultaneously giving us the list of outrageous pricing boggles the mind. Most of us when we saw the housing back in beta figured we can be in our Free company housing for Christmas. We thought of taking a few months to decorate until they released the Airship building workshop which we figured was going to be an expensive proposition including all the parts to builld them. Now they mention they never had any intention of actually giving ALL FC's a fair shot at some piece of land for an appropriate price because they wanted us to farm???

Other MMO's have done variations on housing. Some gave it to us for free (a 1 room flat) others you bought according to the size of your house with maintenance costs and if you didn't pay that they can shut down your house. That alone could have fixed the issues.. but no.. they AGAIN screwed up and didn't anticipate that we'd want the actually move into the shiny new lands they have been teasing us for months. Some of us actually saved quite a bit thinking we might be waiting a couple of weeks to come up with the rest.. but a couple of months? At this point most of us are ditching the FC housing and saving for the sticker shock that is personal housing which I'm sure is going to be jsut as drastic. So much for "building a community".

If they allow us to amass huge amounts of gil, like you said it might be happening (though, we do not know - that's correct) they'll be basically shooting themselves in the foot. They're doing everything to lower the gil in circulation, especially on Legacy servers so that would just be as absurd. Though, I wouldn't be surprised at this point, tbh.

You mean new forms of under cutting? Regardless of what he adds in 2.1 everything will be under cut to the point it isnt worth doing. Everything is already dirt cheap, yes you can make some gil but still the markets crash from item to item everyday.
