I think ALL the field maps should be re-made. Who wants to look at these copy/pastelands for SEVERAL YEARS?
Some people just want new areas. Can you believe if XI had only 4 looks to the ENTIRE game areas when it was launched? Everybody would have laughed it from here to Norway. Now that people are so used to the fields of blandness can't even vocalize what's wrong about them.

Oh dammit, yes. The Witcher 2's forests are so over-the-top better than the black shroud, it actually hurts.
I can't believe this silly post is kind of active still, thanks everybody.

too evil for a starting area dont you think, but yeah they need the effects like the fog and light comming threw the trees.
I admit Gridania is awful. And Thanalan could use some work. There needs to be more life brought into our atmosphere. give us a a beautiful and mysterious land we want to protect from the empire!! Like Coerthas and mor dhona. Everytime I go there I don't want to leave
Malicious site, blocked! thanks Norton. The Sactuary of Zi'Tah...or...

Alot of pine tree's etc... moss and beautiful sunrays reaching down the forest ground.
And misty in the mornings.
Save the Earth. It's the only planet with video games.

There are two problems with the Black Shroud. One is that the ambient light is just way too high. patches of shadow should be everywhere. The second is that trees are a complete non-factor. The only thing they provide of substance is the canopy if you're looking up. Otherwise, that's it - just tunnels and small fields surrounded by mossy ledges. That's not a forest.
