Well aware that was 'FC' housing, the point people are trying to make is that we didn't all jump on the atomos bandwagon in 1.0, we haven't jumped on the Titam sales bandwagon in 2.0, some of us have relatively small FCs so prices are just unrealistic for anything other than the tiniest plot. I get that maybe if I don't have a big fc I don't 'deserve' a big house, but I at least wanted to shoot for medium, but at my current rate of play, the player housing will be out before we can afford it!I totally doesn\\'t agree with the change of housing prices. Get in the community. Go in a larger guild where you can put in place a larger financial effort. Basic things, people should just stop to play on their own and cry that it\\'s not suited for them, it was written FC housing since the beginning boys, deal with it
I have to chuckle every time I see someone state this, as it simply isn't true - we still have Inn rooms we can sleep in and can come and go as we please, for free. The only truly homeless ones are new adventurers from levels 1-10 who haven't yet gained access to the Inn. But for the majority of adventurers, they can still sleep soundly in their warm inn room beds whenever they feel like. FC housing doesn't replace that function.
Op not going to lie to you I had to skip some of the finer points of your post, because it was a bit of a whine-fest. Not to be insulting to you, but I think you only martial the facts that fit your argument and feelings on the matter. You have to understand that 'this' housing is not the same as 'personal' housing. As such, a larger cost is in place for buying a house.
If you are a FC with 50 people in your company you do not need to have the largest of houses, you might want that but it will be difficult to achieve. What's meant to happen here is that you pick up the house you can afford and that's that and the small house could cater for 50 people relatively fine. If you don't like that, then your FC needs to get off their butts and start recruiting and playing the game. A company with the max player allowance will find it much much easier to buy a larger house should the company contribute together.
It's not often I agree 100% with anyone on the forums but OP nailed it. My FC of 45ish members have been pooling every bit of spare change they could to snag us a large house to enjoy. This was THE most exciting part of 2.1 for us. I had prematurely invited friends on other servers to come vacation in my FC's house.
I literally gave up all my money towards FC housing and my members were prepared to do the same. We have 1 million saved with at best a few hundred thousand per member which would not even be enough to buy cheapest small plot on Balmung.
We have gone out of our way to help the community of Balmung free of charge but now after prices were announced there is talk about selling titans and extreme primals to save up money. Even if we took this route it would take eons to afford a house. I have pretty much given up hope of ever obtaining one because selling something I'd give for free is against everything I stand for.

Keith Dragoon is a good man and I endorse his endorsement. There are unscrupulous people everywhere who will do anything for a gil, but I know there are upright people and free companies out there on every server who have passed up opportunities for gil to help fellow players. And we won't change this for any reason. Even not for this great housing feature, which we all have been so excited for.
I and my own free company on Balmung will not entertain this ridiculous extortion of our hard earned money. I completely agree with you OP. Although I agree with your former suggestion--the prices on ALL these houses should be a tenth of what it is. Every last one of the numbers currently listed, for small, medium, AND large, is completely ridiculous and insulting.

I agree with you, Keith. I've gone as far as warning my FC members that I won't tolerate that kind of behavior, to prevent them of even thinking of doing it. If we ever get a good FC house it will be by being honored and honourable, not by exploiting everyone else.We have gone out of our way to help the community of Balmung free of charge but now after prices were announced there is talk about selling titans and extreme primals to save up money. It seems a strong pressure to merge smaller guilds or break members to join the larger guilds with possibly more indiscriminate recruitment and membership, while not necessarily intentional, I think a reality regardless.
Our guild has a legacy stretching some 15 years or a bit more, perpetually smaller than most and casual with optional RP by decree, but up until now able to establish even the smallest form of housing going forward with plans (and success) for the larger units in the many games we've taken root in.
Now, it seems we must continue without housing until these asinine prices (as I and others deem it, with all their own opinions) are reconsidered, or we simply settle with how the past several years have seen an increase in mass-market and economy fluctuations with RMT playing some part, and ultimately smaller guilds falling more incapable in today's MMO environment.
For those in larger guilds with funding for desired size, truly I wish thee joyous times ^_^
