You can't speak for every FC or player out there. If people are losing their minds over it, it's clearly because most people can't afford it. How many members do you consider "an entire FC" to have?

I'd say a small FC would be around 10 people or so. For those 10 people, you'd need less than 500k per person on the lower priced realms, or as much as 4m on the highest one. But even so, that's not an outrageous amount of money that it impossible to get.

Most FCs I see tend to have more than that though. I've seen many in the 40-50 member range, and some into the hundreds. There are even a few out there with capped members (active ones, mind you), and for them buying even the biggest houses will require minimal effort if people put forth the effort.

If I can afford a small 20m house on Hyperion by myself (no "legacy gil", never sold a 2 star item, never sold Titan wins, basically never sold anything over 20k sans T4 materia), what does that say about entire free companies that can't make that much?

Wow, that's a great question. I can't figure out why people wouldn't all have 20 million in their pocket.

Well, players can always come up with scenarios such as 3 RL friends in a FC and therefore can't afford FC housing, IMO if you have a small number of FC members and collectively can't afford a FC housing, then the FC housing isn't really meant for you, you really can't expect FC housing at launch, to be affordable by the poorest and smallest FC.

FC housing will gradually be made cheaper and it allows even the smallest FC to afford it by earning the gils required whilst letting the prices fall, I personally don't understand how is it that players are requesting for housing to be made affordable to the poorest and smallest FCs right at launch.

You expect members of a guild to give up millions of thier own gill? you are living in fantasy land.

We were selling drops drops from running dungeons before the markets went to hell and we struggled to pull 10million a week with gill earned in guild events. Most the money for guilds died when people stopped paying over 400k for titan.

SE is making it a point to screw over guilds in everyway including making money. Atm it is more beneficial to make money solo then in a group... people are not going to give gil to a guild without being able to force everyone to or 1 person will be paying the bill.

Go to your free company now and say ok everyone we are getting a guild hall. Everyone has to pay 150k a week or you will be kicked. Find out how many are with you more then 2 weeks after that. Assuming the large falls to 50% and the average endgame guild has 40people (which is more then normal) you are looking at 4ish mill a pop. Most people in this game have less then 400k and are struggling to afford repairs and food for events atm.

because everyone on the planet is at level 50, has invested in bringing a crafting class to fifty or gets lucky enough with spirit bonding to make this true....
