With all due respect, you had a treasure pool that opened up in FFXI if your inventory was full, even if it was solo, and you were killing mobs with a full inventory. You never simply just 'lost' an item even in that game.

I lost plenty, but you didn't read what I said; "There was no warning"

You still could still regardless of the 5 minute treasure pool, forget that your inventory was full and it would drop to the floor, especially if you were in a party.

I've saved my bacon in ARR a few times now with the "3 inventory slots remaining" coming up.

It all comes down to self-responsibility really and the regret helps re-enforce that later on.

I'm sure that even with 10 inventory tabs someone would still lose an item due to full inventory >.>

The capacity of your inventory is shown on screen at all times. You really have no excuse if you didn't make room. You should think to do that before even running out to odin if your inv is always full.
