Crafting leves are separate, so why not harvesting?

I hope they change their minds on this, I hardly ever get to do the field craft leves because I use all 8 on battle craft leves to level with my friends. Leves are one of the few things in this game that give you a reason to group up with friends. Harvesting on the other hand is a solo activity, sure it would be nice to have some leves or quests to complete instead of mindlessly running from node to node but I cannot see trading a few of my 8 available leve slots to do so.

Not to be mean, but that's your fault, not the game's. If you want them to be separate, you can do so. Grab 4 battle leves, 4 fieldcraft leves, and your crafting leve. There are an equal number of crafting and battle classes, and less than half that number are devoted to harvesting. Given how much slower the crafting classes are to level than either battle or fieldcraft, I think the current allocation is fairly balanced.
