With the release of patch 2.1 ushering in the long awaited free company housing, you can bet that free company membership activity will be on the rise in a big way!

I wonder if SE is aware that there are more people breaking from their Free Companies to make their own small cliques to get their own houses than there are people recruiting for larger, community-oriented Free Companies.

For one, you don't need an FC at all in this game and, with the way endgame works, it actually discourages people from forming large guilds. And two, there is no personal housing and everyone wants their own house so that they can do what they want with it. So it leads people to form small 2-4 man FCs just so that they can have their own FC houses.

Sorry, I just found this contest kind of ironic. Normally I wouldn't complain about contests because I could care less about them and I know plenty of players enjoy them, but it just seems SE has no idea about what's really going on in their game =/

If I put my mind on it, I'd probably have "my own" house by the end of this year.

I'd be interested in the details on this clearly thoroughly vetted data you've acquired. What's your sample size and margin of error?

You need a certain Rank for the FC-Housing. So creating now a small FC to get you a housing won't probably work out.

Wrong 4 people can bring the FC RANK to 5 in 5 Days. Easially and withgout probnlem

8 People can make you Sworn to an GC of your choice in about 1 Week and 3 Days. 1 Person can do it if doen hardcore in just 2 Weeks.

Its only a blurb from a video making contest I think we're worrying a little too much about it. Even if it were meant to be something more serious and it was completely off...does it matter even a little bit? There are big free companies and small ones, does it impact anything if there is more of one than the other? I'm really looking forward to seeing the results of this contest! Wish I could make my own video.

I think he means standing with the grand companies. Rank 5 is the easy part. Becoming allied with your grand company takes weeks, months even depending on size of FC. I have a feeling this is what some of the stuff will be based on.

I won't lie. I'm very tempted to create my own FC that exists of just me because I want housing that much. And I'm not looking forward to waiting 6 months for it. I even made a topic in the past to ask if FC could obtain multiple lands and houses. Simply to allow members to have their own little spot. But a dev reply clearly stated to 1 house only for each FC (For the release of housing! Might and most likely will change later but how long that will take...)

So which exact part is wrong again? I said you need a certain Rank, which you said yourself, so what is wrong? That it probably won't work out? Not everyone is playing at the same pace and just that you can get a FC-Rank to 5 within 5 days, does not mean everyone can/wants to or will do it.
