But being that Warrior is just an alt to get instant queue into DF for shits and giggles, I'm not worried about actually being *good* at it.

Hence why I disagree with Warrior not requiring more skill.

That's why I leveled my PLD recently... To have a lazy tank and a silence jockey when needed.

<-- Both tank jobs at 50 with relics and I stand by the fact that warriors are more involving and require more attention then paladin, and will be even more apparent in the next patch.
Just because one class mitigates after the fact instead of before, doesn't imply more difficulty.
Many of the boss mechanics are easily predictable, so it isn't as if you're doing a pure reaction every time.
Heck, the difference is the same as a pressing 2 buttons instead of 1.

Sure it can be said in the most narrow sense its more complicated, but not by much.

I don't claim to be an experienced tank (Lv20 MRD/Lv22 GLD here), but I have found that playing Marauder is a lot more for AoE tanking as well as increasing damage and healing based off that increased damage, while Gladiator seems a teensy bit more focused on tanking actual bosses and damage mitigation. In this respect, by my perception, Gladiators/Paladins are the best class if all you want to do is tank, whereas Marauder/Warrior is far superior if you want to tank, but you also want to dish out some heavy damage of your own. One could compare it to the difference between a White Mage and a Scholar. White Mage is the more dedicated healer, whereas the Scholar is more of a Combat Medic. Each have their own pros and cons and which one is superior is (or, at least, should be) all dependent on personal taste.

A Warrior may do more DAMAGE to aoe but thats not what tanking is about. nothing a warrior does (yet) mitigates damage with their aoe threat. A Paladin can at least blind them, and proc misses a little bit more. See where i come from? its more than the damage you deal. A warrior is good for damage while tanking or off-tanking. That's a really large plus. A warrior has good snap aggro and the ability to self-heal quite well. In fact, warriors arent the terribad tanks most have been led to believe. They are really quite awesome. And will be more so in a week.
Paladins just mitigate more damage. But they have no self heal. And they're gear looks funny. And they have one combo. To top it all off a Glad's guildmaster is a girl. I mean, come on :P

Can't we all just stop the bickering and agree that either of the tank classes taking the punches is better than the healer or dps eatting them?

Well, to be fair to Paladins, it's assumed that "Cure" is supposed to be their self-heal, and unlike Warriors, they can also cast Stoneskin on themselves as well as giving themselves a lot more mitigation than a Warrior.

A Warrior is the Battle Tank. A Paladin is the Iron Wall Tank. A White Mage is the True Healer. A Scholar is the Combat Medic. A Black Mage is the Glass Cannon. A Summoner is the Jack of all Spells. Etc, etc.

It seems to be all about which one has the specialty, and which one has the versatility.
