im gonna laugh when the people wanting this feature start getting booted, then it will be too late.

Very sad...I do not think you understand how things work, mainly life in general.
The majority of the public wants a vote to kick feature, of course this comes with many limitations to attempt to keep people from abusing, but YOU ARE MISSING THE POINT.
A vote to kick feature serves one purpose and one purpose only, TO KICK a person or persons out of the group due to majority vote.
The reason does not matter, sorry it really does not.
If you are in a group of 8 and NO one else needs to watch CS, sorry but they should have the right to vote kick you. What else would it be for?
I myself do not use the DF to find party members, but with the new features coming up on 2.1 I likely will quite often.

Sorry if the reason behind the vote kick bothers you, but that is life, grow up a bit.

The generation of random numbers is too important to be left to chance.
I'm skeptical that SE's reason for the vote kick is due to conflict over watching cut scenes. However, my opinion differs from those who believe the majority should be able to kick whoever they want. We all paid for this game and we all have the right to enjoy it as it was intended. If a person is doing their best, trying to cooperate with the group, but it just not skilled enough or experienced enough in the eyes of the other players, that player still has a right to play. If someone wants to watch the cut scenes and is not delaying excessively, they have that right. If a group of 7 enters the df needing one member, they have no right to demand that that player do what they say. I'm sorry but people enter df to progress normally in the game and a majority does not have the right to tell them they can't. IMO there must be something inappropriate about what the player is doing to deserve to be kicked. And watching cut scenes is not inappropriate. Vote kick is not meant for parties to be selective about who they run with in df.I do not think you understand how things work, mainly life in general.

If I get qued with someone who is wasting the parties time by randomly afking and not doing their best to progress the dungeon I should have the right to initiate a vote kick.

How exactly is what he said "sad" he merely pointed out that, if your wants and desires are not inline with those of the rest of the group, then it is their right to remove you. It's the point of a well used kick function.
The way I look at all this is sorta like going to lunch with a group of co-workers, the group decided to get Italian, but you really wanted Chinese. Do you stamp your feet and demand to be accommodated, or do you suck it up and get Italian, or do you decide to just not go with them and find some other group that wants Chinese. Two of those are an adult response, one is what a three year old does.
Basically my opinion is neither side of this debate are right, and neither is wrong as it cuts both ways, both could make a pre-made party that us in line with their values and leave DF to those of us who don't give a crap either way.

yay for obligatory political correctness..........
seriously that analogy was just as worthy of being in this discussion as any other analogy i think its ok to at least mention the holocaust over 70 years since it happened
No, no it's not, being booted from a dungeon run by majority vote in a video game is not and never will be analogous to genocide.

These days people are only running through CM and Prae once, for the story, and never again since there's no point when you can just run WP for tomes/myths, so I wouldn't be too worried about people vote kicking people for watching cut-scenes when it's going to be mostly people who haven't done it before or people helping their friends who haven't done it (and said friends are likely to want to watch the cut-scenes).
lol I guess the game is going to be FFXIV A Realm Speed Run
Hm. Why don't they just make the first time they watch the cutscene unskipable? That way people can enjoy watching the CS entirely at least once.
