Letter to all bards about Mages Ballad

Foe is a 10% debuff, not 15%...

The text on the ability doesn't reflect its actual effect.

For reference, the ability text is: "Reduces elemental resistances of all enemies by 10%."

What it really does is increases the damage of all incoming magic attacks by +15% (THM/BLM/CNJ/WHM/ACN/SMN/SCH damaging spells).

The way testers found this out:

Elemental attacks via PGL/MNK/ARC/BRD/DRG (fists, DoT/circle, dive etc.) do not see increased damage at all. However, it does increase damage dealt by non-elemental "unaspected" attacks from ACN/SMN/SCH. This means the enemy resistances aren't affected at all. The increase in damage was also static on all targets tested on which means it applies a direct magic damage taken debuff.

Lost in translation I suppose. In fact I'm going to go fill out a bug report form real quick. Since it's a minor translation fix they might even be able to fit in on the 17th or shortly thereafter!

Might have come across as a negative thread but there is absolutely no reason why if you are in a group with 2 bards and the PLD and WHM are low on MP should we be sitting around looking at the mobs in front of us waiting for MP to regen slowly when the BRD only has to click 1 button to speed things up .

Dear bards do /NOT/ use foe requim if you noticed that the blm clearly outgears the tank because there is NO way in hell that tank is gonna keep aggro at all. *sighs* sad when a tank still not geared up for speed runs flips his shit cuz a blm joins and thinks...thinks he can pull off a pull a well geared tank can pull off.... I dont mind runiing speed runs but if i join df, im not expecting a speed im expecting a norm.

Edit: On a sort of similar but still kind of off topic note I'd also like to add that Paeon does not increase the singing BRD's TP regeneration (makes me sad, especially if we lose Invigorate). Just as a heads up to any BRDs that sing this song when they don't get free AoE procs and run low on TP.

While I mostly agree. . .

The healer queued to watch health bars. The tank queued to watch what enemies attack. The BRD did not queue specifically to watch your MP. No harm in reminding them. . .

Nope sadly it doesn't. 60TP gained without it up, 60TP gained with it up.

Edit: Hmm actually you may be right there. Could have sworn it wasn't working in combat but just tried it with Sprint in town. I'll go check at a dummy. Huh sure is working. Very happy about that but still odd that I wasn't seeing it a few weeks ago.
