In response to the I'm hardcore and only want what i want because i want it argument I'll refer you to Raikki's post. My suggestion is only to allow for there to be content for BOTH types of players each patch with minimal added development time. As for patch 2.3 yes the Dev team (I believe it was yoshi P) has stated that it's slated for CT and that CT is intended to be casual content.

I think everyone missed the OP's point. Most people look at the system and say every other patch one group (hardcore or casual) get something. But the truth is that every patch the casuals get something as at each hardcore group patch the previous hardcore set gets the "echo" buff making it accessible to the casuals. On the casual patches, the hardcore get something to experience a few times, but nothing new to challenge them.

While the hardcore group is only about 10 or 20% (prob less actually) of the community, I can see why they dont cater to them for every patch, and it may take longer for them to actually make content that will truly challenge us, and this is why we get only every other patch, but i guess only time will tell

Sadly it is way too late to try and save raiding in this game. A large portion, if not everyone, who cared about high end hardcore raiding has left this game in search of greener pastures. Crystal Tower was their last chance at retaining interest in this game but has been shaping up worse and worse with each new sneak peek. To try and go back now and do OP changes would probably take a minimum of six months. It's an impossible time frame to bring anyone back to the game given how trust has been so thoroughly shattered in their dev team. Frankly, Yoshi and his dev team are too inexperienced at mmos to bring about the game a lot of people want, from at least a hardcore perspective (though I don't see any real content to keep any one interested for long.).

You guys realize that out of the large number of players that PAY for this game, the hardcore are but a small fraction. A dev team only has so much time and money to put towards building a complete game and world, chock full of content for as many different types of players as possible. Once it's live, they have to cater to what is going to keep the revenue flowing. As YoshiP has announced, the majority of the game's population still has not beaten HM Titan. Therefore the majority of the money is not coming from the hardcore crowd.

For those of us who have been fortunate enough to have the time to invest in capping myth each week, making enough gil to penta-meld ilvl 70 gear, etc., we blew through the content. It's as simple as that. The same thing happens with every new MMO now: people play the game 80-100hrs per week from launch, max level in less than five days, beat end-game content ASAP, and then complain about nothing to do.

This is MMO culture now. Deal with it or move on.

I like how people are using the term 'hardcore' and 'casual.' They aren't correct. The terms you're looking for are 'good players' and 'bad players.'
It's far enough into the game that anyone who can't down BC is bad.

SE is catering to bad players who lack basic motor skills, not 'casual' players. Even 'casual' players are already working on Turn 5.

It's going on all the time! It's called "Hardcore players may hate the content, but thanks for subscribing anyways so casual players have fun!"

Incorrect. "Hardcore" and "casual" players are determined by how much time they invest into the game as a player. Casual players are typically those who have a life outside of whatever MMO game launched this month, or they just don't want to play a game like a full time job.

I agree that anyone that cannot pass HM Titan at this point who is geared for it is a terrible terrible player and should probably stop. However, you don't see SE nerfing Titan to let scrubs through. What you see them doing is introducing new content to allow them to gear up to the point where a group can have 1 or 2 people die and still defeat him handily.

We clear T5 weekly and our whole FC is still here and looking forward to 2.1. If you think there's nothing more for you here then by all means quit, but your "all engdame players have quit already" comment simply isn't true.

I was being facetious, of course not everyone quit. People still played the oringinal FF14, Age of Conan, and other poor games. The point still stands pretty strongly that people are quiting over this and by latching on to the arguement "Well MY guild is still playing!" means very little to the overall arguement of my post and the feelings of many others. I quit the day the announced CT and their intent on not making the game fun for free companies and people wanting to play more than a monday. This thread was lacking in comprehension of that fact so I spoke up about the reality.

I've been playing 30+hrs a week since launch and I haven't even attempted coil. I've had plenty to do with leveling alternates and crafting. I just don't see the hurry. It's not a race.
