    LOL this guy. No. I have played games that have no lockouts. They have turned into utter garbage. Every single one of them. Level to max level -> farm gear for a week. Everyone is maxed out and bored and leave for another game. There is a reason why you are not a game designer.

    they turn into utter garpbage because they didn't foressee players progession and didn't add new content in time ( specially the case of asian games due to extreme long patch translations and adaptations) .

    The real problem is making it challenging but not too hard so anyone can beat it. Which is why you end up with lockouts/caps and grinding. People have this flase believe that because something took a long time to achieve that it was harder or more difficult rather than what it is, just time consuming.

    The lack of endgame choices in things to do combined with the unnessary caps are what's frustrating. Just because most other MMO's follow the same model doesn't mean it doesn't suck I've left other games because it's there and I'm sick to death of them, we all know the gear will be replaced later why slow us down? More money.

    Though lockouts for a week kind of suck. I'm actually ok with this. Means you be sure of the armor you want. And I can get armor for alt jobs. One mage in the group instead of them getting everything someone else can get items

    I've said it before and I'll Say it again because your so into defending the casual player I assume.

    The lockouts on this lower level gear are only hurting the casual players even more. I can't find it but I swear Yoshi P said that CT gear was going to help the casual player out in CoB so they can get the content done. There are a lot of players that can't get pass T1 even with full ilvl70 gear. Some even have a few ilvl90. Higher level gear makes the game a little more forgiving if you mess up. Now having said that.

    Casual players are "mostly" called that because of the amount of time they can play. If a player Can't do CoB every week even if its T1/T2 then they are falling behind in gear. If a player can't cap Myth Tomes every week due to time restrictions (IRL) then they are falling behind in gear. So that's the two main lockouts we have in all right all the best gear in the game should have a lockout ( I don't like the week but I understand why).

    So putting another lockout on lower level content is going to hurt the casual player even more. I think you seem to be forgetting that we have a thing called RNG in the game. So NO ONE is guaranteed to get a piece of gear on their 1st, 2nd, 3rd or even 10th run. Not just that but depending on the group you may be stuck to lot against another player, So even if the piece that you've been looking for drops after 5 runs or 10 runs you may loose lot. SO GUESS WHAT your falling even further behind, Because of time restrictions for the casual player.

    Crystal Tower is a 120min time limit (correct me if wrong) with such a low ilvl requirement, I'm not sure how fast the dungeon can be done 60-90mins?????

    That equals time + more time + more time and for the casual player that's something they don't have a lot of. Get it?

    I really don't know how else to put it. I've been in that casual player boat with only about 20hrs a week to play. Also been in the hardcore crowd when I was a teen and could play 100hrs+ a week (not saying that makes you hardcore). So I see both sides to the argument everyone put out. And seeing as how FFXIV is more casual it only hurts them more. Cause the small minority that we are really don't need the gear out side of vanity and gear other jobs.

    Sorry for the long rants. But anyway this plays out no cap, 72hr cap, or week cap I'll be just fine. I would just like to be able to play the game for more than 6hrs a week and have fun. I pay a monthly sub too in fact 2.

    I played FFXI for 9 years I know what a lockout is but damn a week long lockout on all content is stupid. The lockouts should be 72hrs.


    I tell you what if I did design this game people would be pretty happy. People would enjoy doing open world content, Like camping HNM/NMs and Doing more than one "endgame". I'd be pumping out content left and right, You wouldn't know what to do with your 12hrs a week. These little lame fates with odin/behemoth they wouldn't be fates.

    This is basically the Fatigue System all over again with a different name.

    People who play less hours wont care and people who play more hours will get fed up with the system and leave. That's what happened back then and that's what's happening now. I can't belive that Yoshida, the very man who eliminated the fatigue system, did this.

    Probably because it is literally impossible to keep up with content locusts unless you have User Generated Content. Even then, UGC tends to suck and content locusts whine about it not being any good.

    People are blinded by their own selfishness. If they remove the cap from myth, it would cause an imbalance and alienate people. If you notice, as more people got relics the requirements for certain dungeons and fights became relic. People shout relic for AK/WP/Prime farming and then slowly more shouts become relic +1. If they remove cap, people who play all day would be able to get all myth gear on new jobs before they even have a relic. Then titan shouts would start asking for mostly myth gear people. Coil would shift from ilvl 70/DL to mostly myth. Logically speaking the caps make sense, but can't reason with people who are only concern with how it affects them.
