How long before they start selling Hourglasses on the Mog Station that reset all your lockouts for $5?

I logged out tonight because I literally had nothing to do but make money... Which is all I did all day... It gets boring
Kinda sad I've done everything
I wish crafting wasn't so watered down.
Except it's not ok. Final Fantasy XIV 1.0 already imposed far too many restrictions with the Fatigue system, etc and they are going backwards here. I have no doubts that Crystal Tower and the rest of the content coming in the patch will be great and enjoyable, but not for everyone else with these lockouts. I'm unhappy about this because I have two jobs at 50 and a third one coming soon. I had plans to have get my WAR geared in CT gear, as well as my incoming third job class around the same time, but this lockout just throws that entire plan in disarray.

I Never played WoW and so I have no clue what your comparing Crystal tower to.Some WoW references people may or may not know about.
Loot lockouts are there to extend the life of a piece of content and forces players to spend less time in the game and more on their lives in general by avoiding the opportunity to farm the gear all together, in which your friends/family are grateful for.
But it was your last comment that made me have to post. I can respect your argument saying lockouts is there to extend the life of content, it's not my views but still I respect yours but saying lockouts force players to not play the game is not a smart business model in my opinion and now this is just me and I'm not speaking for Square Enix but something tells me Yoshi and Co. think everyday "What content can we make to get more subscriptions and be able to hold onto those subscriptions."
But that's just my 2 cents
You'd think all those lockout jokes in this thread were ridiculous, but frankly that's what it feels like end game is right now for those of us who are stuck there. No healer gear in turn four for six weeks now-- yet four healer items supposedly drop there. Takes forty minutes to run the whole thing. I'd much rather have farmed early and be happy than have this shit RNG and be left with this eternal feeling of irritation. Your gear doesn't indicate your skill level if you're unlucky.
Yet CT gets a one-item loot lockout... for my alt. So my alts will be gearing at a steady rate, but my main is gearing via RNG? And you have to pick which alt too. Can't be gearing bard and blm at the same time, nu uh. Honestly, gearing up eight other classes in full CT would more than keep people busy until 2.2, but no. Can't have that...
And before people tell me to diversify my play or whatever... I leveled my chocobo to rank 10 to pass the time. Don't talk to me about not doing other content.
Lockouts aren't pacing progression, they're strangling it.
It really sounds like the community is either full of idiots or people who havent played MMO's in like forever ... loot lock outs, respawn timers raid lock outs etc have been in MMO's since the dawn of the era UO had respawn timers of crafting mats, certain mobs etc ... upwards of days on end. EQ had raid timers / lockouts (more in the later years, before that you had respawn timers of sometimes up to days as well), DAOC, age of conan, wow all of them have raid lock outs that shock only let you complete the content once in a set time ... it promotes longevity in their game and allows of the gating of super rare items (if you played wow and remember seeing your first hand of rag or something it was almost awe inspiring).
I dont get why everyone expected it to change in this MMO, I'm sorry if i've missed something that makes this lockout system far worse then the ones that have always existed.
