I switched to KB/M from gamepad and haven't looked back. I'm not sure how i'd feel if I were using a regular keyboard though. I use a Steel Series Merc Stealth, it's f'ing magical.Thank you so much for all the suggestions so far! I am going to look at each one (including the controller adapter, or at least a software program that would allow me to slot in my PS3 controller).
I guess as a follow up, Gamepad > M+KB? Is that the general consensus? Or is it reversed, or is it pure preference and there are very skilled players using each of them successfully?
Switching platforms isn't going to alleviate latency issues, lets just get that out of the way.I just switched to PC from PS3 until PS4 version comes out due to some latency I was getting. Two quick questions, if'n you were so inclined to oblige:
Personally I use the razer naga hex, not as many side buttons as the standard naga but arranged in a more comfortable pattern. I use the buttons to simply control 1-6 on the keyboard and keep my left hand on the movement keys at all times.
Thing is, you can't really use a mouse effectively on the ps3 version. It will work better on the ps4 but again, unless your PC is crap, i really don't see why you think switching platforms will help any.
This might be more your speed if your used to a gamepad already.

Just get a logitec G5 and call it a day.

I'm confused by your advice - I switched from PS3 to PC, and it has improved my rendering and the delay between press-button and action-start. I will switch back to PS4 if it preforms in those areas similarly to PC - I was looking for gamepad/M+KB advice in the interim. Am I still misunderstanding you?Switching platforms isn't going to alleviate latency issues, lets just get that out of the way.

Also - that keyboard looks AWESOME!! That would help a ton with the problems I am having! Think I can find one at BestBuy, or would I have to go on newegg or whatever?

At the price point you started I'd recommend checking out Logitech mice (good solid mice for their price.)
If looking for higher performance keyboard and mouse my preference is SteelSeries...but they cost more than Logitech.
I have that exact keyboard and after awhile the buttons start sticking ><
You can try Corsair k90 or raptor k30 if you're looking for a keyboard as well. The k90 is a bit pricey though and the k30 is around 50ish bucks. The corsair m60 is also a cheap fast mouse.
.....I like corsair products ;3;
There's only two things you need to look for in a mouse:
1. higher DPI laser
2. ceramic feet
Anything else is fluff the manufacturer has added in order to jack the price up.

I play exclusively on PC (though I do own PS3). I use a basic microsoft mouse, like the one that comes with your computer. I don't have to use it much. I prefer to just use KB commands. My KB is a 2009 Logitech G15 and I love it still, so much. I even have recently ordered another one as I feel my W key is starting to be loosey.
I do need a new headset though. USB connected, with mic, that's wont fall apart (but still work) like my 2 previous Logitech ones. Doesn't have to be fancy or stereo or wireless. I mainly just use it instead of speakers, for the most part. Any ideas?

I went from the logitech g600 to the naga 2014 (after using the g600 for over a year), and honestly I think the new naga is better. and price wise naga is only like 20 bucks more.
combined with the razerorbweaver (which I've upgraded over the nostromo), I have 200 keybinds easily without having to move my hands around.
