I never mentioned once that a WHM isn't needed for Twint; however, you can't ignore the fact that the only reason why a WHM is even there is for their Medica II on fireballs. Past that second phase, the fight/heals falls almost entirely on the SCH.
Here's my breakdown (very simple)
SCH Adv:
1. MP management.
2. Single Target Healing.
3. Damage Mitigation
4. Mobility
5. Debuffs
6. Aggro control
WHM Adv.
1. Multi target healing
2. Buffs
3. Larger heals per cast.
4. Holy - cause it stuns
5. Holy - cause it does decent dmg
6. Holy - cause its pretty.????????????????????????Right, because all the constant big spot heals are totally not needed and useless. It's fun how the tone has changed from omg SCH is totally useless to omg SCH is so much superior now that people actually understand the mechanics of the SCH.
Yet now all of a sudden the big constant direct healing on tanks to supplement the SCH shields is totally not important anymore.
Just because on your list the SCH has more utility doesn't mean it makes him/her a better healer. It makes him a DIFFERENT healer.
And seriously? So let the WHM sit down and die past fireballs and see if the SCH can keep the fight up on his own.
God..or even better..do the fight with two SCH.
You obviously haven't played a WHM in coil
Because I play both in Coil and I can tell that you NEED both.
Just bring two SCH. Why even bring WHM?
PvP will be interesting when the other team just 3 or 4 shots the fairy over and over. Wait till we see those threads /sigh.
Personally, I've never had an easier time than when there's me on WHM and a semi-decent SCH in party. The synergy is just awesome, and assuming the SCH doesn't totally suck, it's much easier on both of us than if I was partied with a second WHM. Even a really well-geared WHM won't make as good a partnership as a WHM and SCH together.
Underestimating the synergy between whm and sch methinks. We had a Twintania run where I got hit by a bugged perma prison a few moments before twister phase ended leaving the sch to solo heal from then on. Whilst it was a valiant effort, we wiped at ~5% or so as he just flat ran out of MP rather quickly. I highly doubt I would have fared any better myself if the tables were turned, but as a team together we waltz it in comfort with plenty of mp to spare due to the combination of stoneskin & adloq as well as our debuff rotations rendering death sentence a non event.

As a career WHM, I absolutely LOVE a SCH partner. SCH is amazing. I really really want to learn it and be good at it! I have recently taken SCH to 50, although it's certainly a tricky situation. You don't get to touch the job til you're Lvl 30 (and prior to this you've been a "DD" soloer), and then if you are simply leveling a subsequent class, you're really not getting experience with party-play until 50 (although I did run a few 30's dungeons while leveling, just to see how it was). I want SCH to be my 2nd relic, but I feel so inexperienced the way it rolls out. I guess the best way to get started is queue up CM for practice. I cannot imagine healing AK on SCH though, but I guess I'll find out. ^^;
It has been said before SCH is proactive and WHM is reactive I would put my abilities of OH $#^% healing and tank top off over a SCH any day of the week, my ability to bring a pt back from the brink is superior that all stated I am nothing compared to the SCH when it comes to keeping a pt from getting into a tough spot in the first place, I do not have the staying power mp wise and in that way I cannot compare. We are Yin and Yang and I would always choose to PT with another SCH over another WHM just because of how amazing the team up is. I think it is a silly thing to say WHM is better or SCH is better, WHM is better pound for pound on cures SCH is better at dmg mitigation and staying power but neither is better than the other. I <3 SCH I will never be one, I will never level it up personally but I would not be as good at what I do if it were not for them.
What? Have you even been in Coil? Turn 1, when Cad splits, let me tell you if there is a warrior tank in there my SCH partner sure as hell isnt keeping him up, its simply impossible. And before you start blabbing about not taking warriors into coil, just stop. I love a warrior/pld set up. I am happiest as a whm with a SCH partner. I can heal just fine with another whm but its a bit of a pain, someone has to watch party heals, thats what faeries are for.
What gives you the idea that it's impossible for a SCH to keep a WAR tank up on Cad? Are you unfamiliar with how good SCH single-target healing is? If anything, party heals are handled far more effectively by the WHM than by a fairy on auto-pilot.
I don't think she meant it literally obviously two SCH and do it just like two WHM can do it the point was just to defend her job when it comes to Coil.
I've beaten Twintania.. Go away. What? Have you even been in Coil?
