I don't think WHM or SCH need to defend their positions at all. If people are not running SCH+WHM on Coil then they're making it needlessly harder on themselves, though that's a personal decision of people as to the people they want to play with and compositions they want to run. I know this thread was intended as a joke, and I agree with the OP: I think WHM and SCH are both in a pretty good and balanced place atm and don't need much changing, though I'm interested to see where the classes go in the future.

That's what I like about the healer forum. So many other classes/roles are busy yelling at each to stop being perceived as better than them so that whatever class they're playing will become/stay number one (as far as common perception is concerned). Generally the healers are just like "We're a healing team. Those other guys are pretty cool."

What? Have you even been in Coil? Turn 1, when Cad splits, let me tell you if there is a warrior tank in there my SCH partner sure as hell isnt keeping him up, its simply impossible. And before you start blabbing about not taking warriors into coil, just stop. I love a warrior/pld set up. I am happiest as a whm with a SCH partner. I can heal just fine with another whm but its a bit of a pain, someone has to watch party heals, thats what faeries are for.

There's no defending needed. WHM and SCH comp is bar none far better than 2WHM or 2SCH.

The issue is, if you weigh the pros and cons of each class.. SCH is just.. well better.

Yeah no need to defend at all *Eye Rolls* "SCH is just.. well better" Tell you what we will see what your pt thinks in a everyone is about to drop all at once my DS + Medica II owns your face and there is no arguing that. Again, both are used in their own way and best work with each other not against. No need to try and prove one is better than the other because it is situational, btw WHM has been in this whole healing biz just a little longer so by way of pure veteran FF status we win :P

Not sure how these threads get started, or how they derail so badly from the OP's original intent. Yes both classes have pro's and con's in different situations. I personally believe they synergize extremely well vs having 2 of each in a particular party, however that's just my opinion and it's based on experience.

I feel Coil: Turn 1 is lazier with 2 White Mages instead of a White Mage and a Scholar. The reason I say this is because we run with a Paladin/Warrior combination, and we don't kite the snakes, or bring adds for them to munch on, we just let the stacks go until the tanks are getting hit for god knows what kind of damage.

Turn 2 through Twintania I prefer a Scholar counter-part to my White Mage. We know each others habits and don't step on each others toes so to speak. I'm sure the same could be said about 2 White Mages or 2 Scholars who have played together for as long as we have. But again I'm just basing it off my experience. I'm not saying one is better then the other, just saying they are awesome as a pair and shouldn't be broken up.

If you keep your party alive without wiping then mission accomplished. You did your job and what you are supposed to do perfectly.
