What were twisters before change? How were they different?it has everything to do with Twisters, vast majority of turn 5 groups especially the ones going for world firsts were stuck at twisters. Conflag wasn't even a problem before the sleep exploit was found, our groups have been consistently cleared up to Twisters and given enough time would have found the timing for twisters before it was nerfed to "just move during twister cast", that's when Turn 5 clears started popping up more often.
It's even stated by Yoshi that he felt Twister timing was too punishing so it's pretty clear where the major hurdle was in the fight.
Did you watch the kill video? Sch and offtank died to twisters .
BG may of gotten lucky with the twister rng during that attempt. Like there is a lot of rng iin fight that can screw your attempt. Such as dread targeting melee.
There is another bug during that phase that causes wipes. "Perma stun" someone gets stunned even after dread dies and they remain that way.

I think it was more than two times. Just because it's BG and because it was world first doesn't mean that they were executing perfectly, though. They themselves never blamed "RNG" or "buggy twisters", they always said there was a specific way that it worked and it was just a matter of execution. That execution demand has since been nerfed enormously, and that's why it's so much easier to win now.
This bug is somewhat of a nonissue because it only happens if the dread kills someone. If you're letting dreads eat people you're usually already losing. There is another bug during that phase that causes wipes. "Perma stun" someone gets stunned even after dread dies and they remain that way.

If twisters always targets your healer and offtank. Then that is best since you don't lose dps if one dies .
Hmm i just don't understand how twisters could of been so different previously? Does the previous twister have a wierd invisible hit-box that will always hit you if don't move in a C , Z or whatever dumb pattern.

you had to dodge them at a certain percentage of cast bar, we never really found the timing for it, that, couple with latency and what's shown on screen aren't necessary what's really going on on the server's side, made it a very inconsistent mechanic.
Post nerf, you can just dodge twisters whenever it starts casting. I'd say it's tuned to take into account of internet latency.

even when Yoshi said it's not a random mechanic, very few groups were able to clear it consistently.
Ok can you explain to me Dano. If every one ran back to edge. And just kept running in a straight line(never backtracked or cross paths) for the entirety of the twister cast time. Would they still get hit by twister?
Actually was thinking about this the other day.
Everyone got SO excited when Yoshida announced that he thinks fewer than 100 people would be able to kill turn 5.
Now, of course everyone got so excited cause everyone thinks they're the ultimaid elite best players in the world.
Sad truth is, most ppl were whinning so hard and quit the game cause they couldn't beat it.
And after all the whinning you guys got what you wanted, nerfed twisters.
All the people saying it was broken or bugged are just making up excuses for their poor skill,
they said they were working as intended but they got tired of everyone's QQing so they made them easier.
And honestly, those whiners are quite a disgrace as 'elite' / 'hardcore' / 'w/e' if they call themselves that.
Try zooming out, yo.

You can be the most knowledgeable guy about MMORPG in the world and chances are millions of fans will still outsmart you on your own game. If I'm a dev, I can guaranteed either nobody or everyone can beat an encounter, and that's about it. Anything else would be at best an educated guess and most of the time it'd be a wild guess. The fact that a dev is often wrong doesn't mean they're bad people, but it'd be nice if devs accept the fact that players typically can beat a dev at their own game. By the way it's just as bad in reverse, like I've seen encounters that are totally broken and the top raiding guilds are waving the white flag one month into progression, and devs still think it's totally beatable and didn't nerf it until even the hardcore guys quit.
Well i think its absolutely ridiculous that people were not "skilled" enough to dodge a mechanic that happens in the same pattern over and over. You know exactly when twisters is coming. Must of been bugged, affected by server positioning or the correct way to move was found yet. This is not some randoms in duty finder its top fc of the world.Actually was thinking about this the other day.

After the fix .Yoshi could of said this is how you dodge twisters . But he didn't. Or even before fix . They choose to remain silent about it . Must of been bugged or death caused by postioning lag.

yes, you can dodge twisters by moving in such a way that never retrace your steps, it can be as easy as sidestepping or run in a circle/square. You should never follow someone in the same direction because you might get hit by their twisters, neither should you be clumped up too closely because Twister can chain react.
