You know, people say this a lot..that means you're not happy with the game since you're posting on the forums. You know those who suggested the changes for ARR that you're playing? Yeah they posted on forums.

I mean this out of sincere curiosity, not as a pining for a bygone age: What is the difference between the proposed Crystal Tower lockout and, say, pre-2012 Dynamis, or Limbus? Is it the lack of other content to do in between? Or have we just become unwilling to put up with that type of content?

Dynamis pre-2012 (this includes drop update, money update, relic item updates and additional job drops) - Go in for 3 hours a day unless it's a straight shoot to the end or farming. Possibility to obtain whatever gear that drops without being locked out from lotting it. If I got my DNC Relic body, I can still lot my SCH Relic Hat if it drops or my Corsair Relic Hat. After the run, 3 day lockout and I can do it again with no lotting restriction.

Limbus - Same deal, no lotting restrictions other than what the LS leader sets.

Crystal Tower XIV - Lot one item, you're done for the week. You can spam it all you want but you won't be getting anything.

I'll grant the fact that you can take more than one drop. But mathematically, they're equivalent on a per-week drop (give or take). Limbus or Dynamis had a 3 day lockout, so only two runs per week. A good farming run could pull in ~20 drops, so ~40 in a week, for between 1-2 pieces of gear per person, per week (Limbus was much worse). I don't really see the difference, fundamentally, except that this time the dev team is forcing our hand on the matter. I'll definitely grant that that is non-optimal, but it's not like the per-week drop rate is that different.

For what it's worth, I'm not saying there are no issues here, but I would argue it is completely congruent with systems people were perfectly happy with 4/5 years ago. Whether we have changed, or the game environment has, I don't know.

I didn't mean to imply that all forum users were unhappy with the game. That said however yes, I do have complaints about the game, mainly the huge lack of sidequests at Lv 40-50. Granted, I may just be not seeing them.
