    The minimum requirement doesn't mean a group of ilevel 55 players will be able to beat it.

    It's the bear minimum.

    I've seen people shout for coil groups with majority AK gear. At least this minimum requirement will stop people rocking up with level 35 accessories and getting carried by the group.

    EDIT - You spoke about the weekly loot cap. I believe it's 1 drop a week? (Could be wrong) Why are you worried that people will bypass DL when it'll take about 10 weeks to get full ilevel 80? They're gonna get DL to fill the gaps anyway.

    With WP speed runs you can get full DL in a day if you wanted.

    Isn't that the point of ilvl requirements? That would be the minimum gear level needed to beat the content. CoB is suppose to be somewhere around ilvl80 requirement and people are beating it in darklight and AK gear well below the recommended level, So I'm pretty sure a group of ilvl55 will/can beat CT.

    Sorry the way I worded that was wrong. It will be possible to beat. I meant to say that some ilevel 55 parties won't be able to beat it.

    Take the people that did Titan HM in swimwear yet a lot of full DL can't do it. So gear =|= skill.

    Just meant to say that parties that aren't organised can't count on being overgeared to win

    Here comes people in green farming spiritbounding! Hell i think im going to heal that in full lvl55 greens the first week. Might throw some random materia in them just for the fun of it!

    I agree, 55 is much too low in my honest opinion. 65-70 should be ideal. Why the hell should people that don't want to invest in the time and effort basically get free carries?

    Would just take you 8 hours, provided you're so hot you can stand in for the 4th relic+1, while in AF.

    It doesn't take 3 months to lower the difficulty. It just wasn't finished, anyone could see that. I mean look at the alliance UI, it looks like something that was slapped together at the last minute.

    I think 55 is rather low, but 70 is too high. You don't really even need 100% Darklight to do Coil 1/2, and CT will almost certainly be significantly easier than that.

    Remember that this item level minimum averages all of your gear... with an ilvl 70 limit, someone must basically have EVERY single piece slotted with Darklight or better to enter the raid. That's really overkill and not necessary.

    I think 60-63 would be a fairer number. That'd allow for a nice mix of AK (or stuff from the new dungeons, which will be ilvl60) and Darklight, while giving a bit of leeway for that odd level 49 ring someone may not have had the opportunity to replace just yet.

    I do think 55 is a bit on the low side though. What if one of the other alliance parties has absolutely nothing but bare-minimum ilvl 55 players in it and they simply can't clear their part for whatever reason? Will the progress for the other two groups be stalled?
