That's the thing, I "Didn't" force myself. I had the mentality of New Game= New Character ( I wanted to make a new character *And to make a Man Kitty <3*. Nothing Forcing about it.
Also, if you go into any New MMO with maxed out everything Character, of course you will have nothing to do. This is the first MMO to do this ( as far as I know of). Look how far it's getting these people that are legacy, hitting a brick wall with nothing to do. I made a New Chara from day 1 ( not knowing what end-game will be like).

Don't get me wrong, I understand where you are coming from but we shouldn't be forced to start a new character given the amount of time we actually spent in 1.0. Sure if it was a complete wipe then we are forced to, but given there wasn't there should have been content to tide us over. I love the game but the general lack of content is pretty bad tbh. I only ever played FFXI mainly and it was so exciting finally seeing that piece of gear drop that you have spent so much time going for, but this game doesn't have that excitement. Your basically like, right I have X runs left to finish my set, yey? Hell I loved the low drop rates in Sea, it was amazing and you wasn't locked from it, you could just go when you wanted and that was it.
But right now, we are forced to login during the week to cap myths, forced to login to do coil(takes 1h?) and now forced to login to do CT also. Aion had this same mentality but that was obvious why it was like that, because Koreans love grind MMOs and because they pay by the hour. We don't. Right now if you don't login you are left behind, this goes for both casuals and hcs.
You can kind of compare it to Dynamis, but Dynamis was awesome, even after running it for years it was still fun finally watching a friend get a RDM hat or THF hands because of how happy they was, but this ain't like that anymore sadly. We're working on content that has gone backwards because they couldn't release it in time. It should have been more coil turns, but yeah..
So now I'm basically paying 10€ per month to have 4 days worth of playtime a month? It doesn't matter if I play casual or hc, I'm still only getting 4 days playtime every month and that's pushing it. Coil takes like 1h30, WP takes a few hrs to get the remaining 150 myths even if you ain't SRing and now CT which will be 2hrs max, lovely.
I'm all for defending SE in any way possible, but to be this far from release knowing you have people who have lots of classes leveled from v1.0 with so little content available for them, it's a little disappointing to be honest.
Sorry for wall of text... Wasn't meaning to be so long, lol. Also grammar ain't my strong point.![]()

I understand where you are coming from as well, but just bare in mind that this is a new MMO, as such it takes time for content to build. There's only two options in your situation:
1) Make a new Character and start from scratch ( you'll have plenty to do at that point)
2) Wait for you current sub to run out and unsub ( and wait 1-2 patches for the game to get on it's feet)
If you don't want to do #1 then #2 is your best bet. Don't waste your money on something your not getting much enjoyment of.
Yeah I completely agree, but I'll be in the same situation if I do #1.. Spamming already done content over and over, which is kind of dull and boring. Like I said, XIV has no excitement factor right now, I hope they change this in the future tho. I'd totally do #2 if I could, but I supported the game in 1.0(didn't pay every month sadly I was busy IRL for awhile <.<) and will continue to do so. It's just a shame that SE have dealt with it this way. Here's to hoping that 2.2 comes in 2 months rather than 3 since it was different teams on them.
seriously just wait till the content is released before you bash it its so much negative talk over this and no one even really knows how things will work, how much loot will drop, how teams will have to support each other, how difficult or fun the fight will really be, ect!
I mean come on I can understand disappointment on the loot lock out but with so many ways to obtain various high level loot in 2.1 from HM/EM primals, CT, and your regular run of coil (which most regularly active players have already obtained gear for their main class from) im really not upset about the lock out. (if im gearing in ilvl90 on my main why would I care about CT gear save for vanity?) ill use CT to gear out all my alts each week while gearing my main in coil gear!
join with my FC, grind till we all get gear for the week then do other content by the time we are done between EM,CT and coil it will be going into next week for the lockout reset on all content!
why is this community so negative!

I know just as many people who are brand new to XIV that are fed up with endgame as I do Legacy players, probably more. The whole "I made a new character and I'm not bored" argument seems irrelephant to me...
Heck, this isn't even Squares first MMO, and it's not like they made ARR completely unaware that people would already be capped and thus burn through the content quicker. They should have known they'd need more content than this from those facts alone... Actually, I remember Yoshida stating in interviews that the problem with some other MMO launches (ones without people already capped) was a lack of endgame content. Yet here we are...
The worst part is, they actually waste the content they do have, because everything is so damn easy. 1-50? Easy as hell, but "The game starts at 50", so whatever. Endgame? You have Mythology capping, which takes no time at all. Coil, which depends on your group. And now we'll have Crystal Tower. Worst part of this is Mythology, because everything gives you Mythology. I expect after 2.2 they'll just hand you 500 Mythology for logging in. I don't particularly like grinding dungeons, but capping Mythology could be an event itself, it could take all week, instead of Monday night. Instead with Crystal Tower and Coil I really doubt it will be anymore.... Which is a shame, because we're getting three new dungeons to add some variety to it... I'm sure people would complain that they fail to cap Mythology if they made it "harder" to do, but at least people would be complaining that they're playing and not doing something, rather than complaining that they're playing on Monday and done...

Not sure why there is crying about CT.. people cry about how it takes 2-3 weeks to get a myth item.. then they raise the cap so you can get gear in 1-2 weeks. Then there is coil where you may get a piece of gear per week... and now CT where you are pretty much guaranteed a piece of gear a week.. so really at 2.1 we can get 3+ high level pieces per week instead of maybe one every other week. I dont think the complaints will stop until people can get capped max ilvl gear for every job in the span of a week.. but then they would cry that there is nothing to do. where does it end?
