
because like a system where every alt has its own class.. you have a main and that main gets special treatment.. now you can level 1 job in coil, 1 job with myths and a 3rd job with CT.. not really sure what else you want, if you could do it the way you want, you would have all jobs fully geared in CT gear in 5 weeks.. but you dont get another CT update for 6 months, then what? spend that extra time complaining on forums about the lack of content
5 weeks of having tons of stuff to do with all jobs. "CT,Coil,Primals,Myth Cap" vs 1 day worth of content a week for the next forever. Yeah my way is way better and encourages more play from a lot more people. My way would allow me to get one piece from each tier per job a week, and have several strong jobs. It will still take a few months to be maxed for each job, at which time we would have more content I could then do on EACH job. The way you are suggesting would take far far far longer, I would be a raid logger, and my secondary jobs would not be able to take on higher end content.
Job lockouts just make way more sense.

You realize this is worse than a monday only suggestion right? Sure people burn through all the content in 5 weeks.. then unsub for a couple of months. and during that time they likely found something else to do and wont come back. The idea is that you get enough limited options that you can rotate them to sustain interest over time but it takes time to get that amount of content developed, the problem is, all we have right now is myths and coil and that is done in one day. But then you'll upset the people who dont have the time to do all the stuff. so again, we are back at square one.. cry that there isnt enough to do, cry that it takes too much time to do stuff

The character lockout enforces the one day a week mentality. This will cause more people to quit than stay. They want something to do in game. Not clear the games content in one night a week and not log in the rest of the time. With the way I am talking about, you would have about 2 months worth of content per 3 month content patch.(running coil/ct/primals on every job every week) The way you are suggesting, we will only be playing 1 month of days in the 3 month period because we have little to do. (1 character doing coil/ct/primals on 1 job per week.) Hell it will not even get to that point, as people will dump it just like they have all the newer released mmos.

What they're doing with CT won't change that at all, it just reinforces that same mentality of "log in monday, do everything, logout" and it's going to stay that way for a long time until they introduce something new and fresh to the system because weekly locks do nothing but encourage people to sign out when they're finished.

It would be nice if they would do a loot lockout per job. Even if it was weekly that'd give people with multiple jobs things to do and a feel of progression for more then one job.
This system is still infinitely better then Coil system where we won't see any gear for weeks, so thanks for that SE. Also ability to help friends, and do something different will add some flavor at least.
Stop with the game is new, game got 4month now
Also they need to put a higher cap, 2.2 will have primals at lv 50 again
This is non sense I don't want a XI style of beeing 50 for 7 years, Yoshida promised alot of stuff for XIV even for the launch that never happened
