Just to be comprehensive, here are all the foods that provide vitality. But it's pretty clear that Buttons in a Blanket and Mulled Tea are your best bets as a WHM. Anything better requires ingredients from unspoiled nodes making they much more expensive.

I'd go with Mulled Tea. Not sure why it's so expensive (apart from the shard cost I guess) as 3/5 items can be bought from the vendor. Ginger is a lower level gathered item while tea leaves are level 50. Pineapple Juice is much more expensive because it requires one of the items you can gather for a limited time per game day.

As an alternative to food (or an addition), you may want to consider adjusting your job bonus points. You said that you have a good amount of i90 gear (so a good chunk of primary stats) and if your main concern is vitality then adjust these points by putting more into vitality. At the point in the game you are currently at I doubt a few points would gimp you but the survivability would definitely help.

Mulled tea is your best bet for food just due to the amount of Vitality and MP it adds. I would have to check the cost of the food/farming to be able to give you a price.

Probably the relatively low demand for it (since only WHM's will want it) discourages most cooks from bothering to market it at all. But that's just a guess.

Well yeah of course, but they said they're almost full ilvl 90. At that point they should have more than enough VIT even without the melds.

That being the case, if they're working on T5 they're going to be using the best food they can anyways, so looking for food specifically for VIT when the food they're using IS the best VIT food for them is kind of a moot point.

Well not everyone knows this information, most players don't even bother with food at all which makes me almost ill to think about. Now a few more people on the forums are informed and aware of misleading stat caps. So it's not a total loss

mulled tea is extremely cheap to craft if you have a lv25 botanist and a high cooker friend...
4/5 ingridients can be bought from npc with 2-4gil each... only you need to prepare the lv25 bazil leaves...
so with 8 shards per synth, it's under 100gils (shards in excalibur are 11-16gils each)
It's not Basil leaves. It's Thanalan Tea Leaves, and they are a level 50 item. :-\
