well get to work on changing those plans already. The feature is clearly no longer needed.

You have no way of knowing if the feature is needed or not. I don't get queues that often but I still get them sometime. Now if people are able to afk and stay logged in 24/7 the queues may be much worse.

Actually they can still stay logged in 24/7 if they really want to. In fact it is really quite easy to bypass the logout timer.
Right now you have people (mostly RMT) sitting in game afk for hours by initiating a dialog with either an NPC (ie. levequest or vender) or sitting in their inn rooms with their retainer or viewing a cutscene and until the Devs actually fix this issue by forcing logoff even if in middle of a dialog box/cutscene anyone and everyone can get around this.

They could make it work much better by coding it so that it requires a physical input function from mouse KB or controller to interrupt the timer. Sure there will always be ways around it. But the point is, how many people are willing to make the effort to save 2 minutes of login time? I would say already a huge number of people who use to afk during the post launch problems, are no longer doing it.Actually they can still stay logged in 24/7 if they really want to. It never was needed because afk users are a miniscule fraction of the logged in population- It was slightly inflated the first few weeks for how hard it was to log on, but after the log in issues were resolved (and the feature was implemented after the problem HAD ALREADY GONE AWAY)
The queues will not even appear more often much less be worse. This feature is unnecessary, period. Anyone who is insistent about staying logged on can already circumvent the feature, proving that it is pointless to have in the first place.
yes, there is a simple way to avoid it, that's why it's pointless and doesn't need to be there in the first place. Why should we have to circumvent it? Since people are doing that and the servers haven't exploded, it should be obvious that this feature isn't necessary.Hmm, just curious, but do you people doing the complaining know there is a rather simple way to avoid the auto-logout?
I do it all the time when I know I'm gonna be afk for an extended period of time but still want to keep my game up.
I do have a way of knowing, because it wasn't even needed at the time it was implemented.
AGAIN:
1) the % of idle users overall is extremely small in general.
2) Any user that needs to go AFK and knows there is a timer will circumvent the auto-logout by any of several simple methods: Talking to your retainer, starting a synthesis, or using a keyboard macro.
4) the number of people who need to and the frequency with which they would need to go afk for more than 30 minutes is very small.
3) Because of both of the abuve, the effectivness of the feature is next to nothing and only serves to aggrivate a small number of people while at the same time benefitting absolutely nobody.
5) Virtually all servers are now open for character creation at all times, indicating none of them are anywhere near their population caps, thus demonstrating the lack of need to boot idle players to open up slots on the server, because the servers are not full.
you and the 4 people who liked your post can't seem to see the obvious reasons why this "feature" is not effective and useless. Unless there is a sudden completely unexpected population surge that SE isn't prepared for, the issues it was meant to resolve are unlikely to ever happen again.
Get rid of this feature. It does not need to exist and the problem it is intended to solve no longer exists. Period.
