Patches and scheduled downtime

Rask, it's pretty simple, the maint is always scheduled during the worldwide low population times... That is the only effective way to minimize the number of players affected. Realize that those players get all the off peak time benefits when they do play. For instance, no login queues ever, and actually being able to see the fate mobs they are aoe spamming.

Edit: forgot to mention that they also get a distinct lack of instance lag ie Titan hard

Well... I honestly don't have anything else to say that could contribute. I feel for the people who have to deal with it, though, and I certainly hope someone can come up with a solution that can reduce their frustration whenever it happens.

In either case, they perform both operations during their standard work hours, which are on Japanese time. As inconvenient as it is for you to not being able to play sometimes, wouldn't it be inconvenient to them to perform their operations to the game at midnight their time?

Again, folks need to read my post again. Everyones going off on their on tangent based on what they think I mean but I thought I was pretty specific. Im not requesting a change to cater to me personally, if they happen to standardize a time that is horrible for me then I will just move onto another game if I notice I cannot get on during the times I'd like.

Um, if their operation team is not 24/7, which would make literally any time of day standard working hours, this game is doomed. I also don't care if it's inconvenient for them to do something that makes it less inconvenient to their paying customers. I mean, they want to keep their paying customers right?

What about trying to reduce the maintenance frequency? And if that's not possible due to the current structure, why not try to fix that first?

Guys, I understand what you're saying, but sitting there and saying "nope, it's not possible. Keep moving." is almost neglectful in my opinion. -Something- has to be done, and the best way to reach that in my humble opinion is listening to people and talking about it, instead of closing the doors and turning a blind eye to potential problems.

You are wasting your typing fingers on this crowd. No matter how many times you try and explain how almost every other AAA MMO in the world does standardized weekly maintenance times, they will just ignore it completely.

Real emergency maintenance need to happen, like that market bug awhile back that was stealing gil. But outside of that, roll all the maintenance windows into just one standard and set schedule that you do once a week.

To the people that will fire back and say that issues need to be fixed right away. They are already scheduling these fixes 24-48 hours in advance. If the issue is okay with SE being live for up to two days, it's probably going to be fine if it's live for 3-4 days instead.

patches are not more then once a week...always between monday-wednesday and always at the same hours either 10 pm or 1 am...what do you want more?

Although there is some consistency to a M-W schedule the fact it could be on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday make it somewhat inconsistent. They could say it will happen during 'a' day of the week that's just as consistent IMO.
