Patches and scheduled downtime

I've not played any other Square Enix MMO so I wouldn't know, but are the folks who schedule their patch times complete morons? Joking, partially, but the patch times continue to be so frequent and worse yet at seemingly random times affecting any number of people based on whenever they choose to schedule that week.

This is a game marketed to a massive amount of people. At the very least, patch times should be standardized. Depending on what is actually being patched/fixed, patches should be shuffled together rather than having a patch every other day for something seemingly trivial.

Patches have come more than once a week, though not regularly. There should be a standard down time so at least players know what to expect. Outside of that, there should only be patches on a priorty basis, if a major game breaking bug is found.

Considering they're posting they are very much full of life. Also, patches come when they come and the game goes down when it does - "Lifeless" would mean you have nothing better to do than play this game, so if that isn't case when patches are scheduled your day shouldn't come to a complete stop

I understand you'd prefer less threads on this topic. Likewise, you should understand this is apparently an issue with many other players. We can't skip over this issue like you can skip over this thread. If you don't like all these similar posts, try not clicking on them.

What you are doing is in fact trolling. You're going out of your way to view a thread and comment how you don't like it. You're scrolling the forums for drama essentially. Meanwhile, I am simply making a post hoping to add to the folks who have issue with something they are actively paying for. I'm not intending to annoy you with another thread you can skip over...

I'll bite even though you're intentionally being a smart @ss. I pay to play this game, the game is often times down during the times that I have to play the game. Not everyone has the same work schedule. With my family and my work schedule, I often cannot find time in my life to play until later in the evening. That being what it is, I understand that regardless of when a patch is it is likely to bother someone. So I can agree that night time patches are best, however I am simply wanting a standardized schedule. If I knew that IF there were going to be a patch it would likely fall on one night of the week and at one time, I could simply plan not to play the game at that time. However anytime I login it is a crap shoot whether there will be a notice for further downtime.

Square Enix isn't like Blizzard where the game is taken offline once a week on the same day every time for scheduled maintenance. SE instead does maintenance when it's necessary, usually when major bugs have been detected or to fix some exploit or hack. They've done it this way for the past eleven years with FFXI, for the two years FFXIV 1.0 was active, and they're doing the same with FFXIV ARR. It's only a few hours, I'm sure there's other things you can do in that downtime.
