What happens if people Troll DF with Vote Kick?

Well let's see.... seeing as most MMO Vote Kick systems count premade groups like your "3 trolls" as only 1 vote and stack a lockout cooldown that grows exponentially with each time the kick feature is used to prevent abuse those "3 trolls" won't be able to do that in the first place.

And even if FF14's system doesn't implement such restrictions its about 100x easier for 1 troll to afk/chest farm/harass/etc a DF without a vote kick system then for 3 trolls to rally together just to abuse such a kick feature so its a risk I'm willing to take.

Here's the thing about that. Wouldn't that defeat the entire purpose of implementing a Vote Kick system if a 3 man premade party couldn't kick one person?

Well in a 4 man dungeon it would likely count as a kick. But that's where the cooldown steps in. Everytime you kick some one in a single day you have to wait longer before you're allowed do it again. In WoW the cooldown ballooned to something like 8 hours after the 3rd-4th kick in a short time frame. So such trolls wouldn't be able to pull their pranks for long. After that its a matter of the Moderators doing their job and punish people reported for abuse.

Anyways I stick to my point that its infinitely easier to abuse a game without a Vote Kick system, as it only requires the actions of one person and there are many more ways they can do so than a vote kick can be abused.

EDIT: Now that I think of it 3 trolls could already harass people with the DF system. They could just enter the dungeon and go AFK, or pull the first big fight/boss then leave group, etc.

If three people vote to kick one person, that is not trolling. That is democracy.

They don't even need to justify why they decided to kick you. Three against one means you lose, see ya later.

It's not paranoia, it's a legit concern because people said prior to release: "You can't troll the DF or AFK when you load it up", yet what do we see? People trolling the DF and AFKing it. It's very possible to troll the DF with the vote to kick unless the system checks if you actually should be kicked or not - You join somthing 8 man and people who premade and joined and just plain don't want you to get gear or credit, they can vote you out because it's majority rule.

If we were both SCHs and I see something drops for SCH that I want and I joined with 5 other people making it 6/8? You'd be kicked if I had em all decide to vote to kick you - That's pretty much what trolling the Vote to kick would be. SE says a lot of stuff that tends to be the reverse.

You guys are quite inexperienced or unimaginative. There are much better ways to abuse vote kick.

1) Queue as three. Vote kick the fourth. Now have your tank queue in-progress, he'll probably get in immediately or you might have to kick one or two. Now kick one of your original three. Have a healer queue in-progress. Again kick until your healer gets in. Now you have 2 people who can vote and receive votes for MIP.

2) Queue as three. Get to end of dungeon before last boss. Kick fourth. lololol ensues.

3) I would think it is obvious for a limitation to be cannot kick while in combat. But if for some reason that is not the case, then if you're in primal EX battle and your group wants a weapon drop, once HP is low it's time to start kicking.

4) If you're queuing as tank, and you see one member is underequipped, now you can force the group to kick you or them by threatening to go afk if they don't. Now instead of eating a 15 min penalty, you can immediately get in another group or have the underequipped person (or really whoever you want) kicked.

These are, of course, not what-ifs. You see these all the time in games that have vote kick. They can be quite funny from the abusing side, if you like being a troll. =)

Yeah I can see people abusing it right before a boss dies. Hopefully there is a timer and vote kick can't be used after engaging the last boss.

Would it apply to primals though? I mean if vote kick is to serve as removing AFK/DC member to replace them, and there is no replacement allowed in primal battles, it doesn't seem like it should be possible there.

Apparently some people think if 1 person is being an a-hole, its OK and they should ruin everybody's run and nothing should be done to stop them. Its apparently WAY better than the alternative of 3 people slightly inconveniencing 1 a-hole.

The beauty of trolling with kick is you benefit yourself while screwing other people over.
