    Uh they mentioned a few letters ago that this was intended. You have to choose.
    Why not go all the way and make stat allocation character-specific instead of class-specific, then? The same lame excuse of "you have to choose" works just the same!
    If/when additional Jobs are released and every class will have to choose between one or the other it will only get worse.

    They will change this eventually, right now most people don't care because Scholar is the least played job, wait until this affects Ninja or Samurai later, then they will be forced to change it

    I honestly don't understand, I am really not a min max hardcore pro player but a bigger heal will always be better when both consume the exact same MP and are casted at the same speed
    Theoretically, they're not cast at the same speed. That's the key point of my argument you skipped over.

    You gave 700 and 1k as theoretical comparative Physick numbers. In order for A to overtake B, you need to cast 1.5x as quickly. When that happens, you have a lot more versatility at your disposal. It comes with tradeoffs, but there's more to the healing game than MAI HEALS AM ARE BE THE BIGGEREST.

    The point of the argument was to emphasize thresholds of effectiveness rather than a static 30 mnd which really doesn't matter in 99.999% of cases one way or the other.

    The most they might do is lower the GC seal cost, since 10k is pretty prohibitive when most things only give 100-250 seals between fates, turn ins and quests. You'll just have to learn to live with excelling at one job per class instead of both. It's not like you'll be gearing both at once anyway

    Except your argument holds as much weight as Spell Seed does. My Physicks and Adloquiums reliably do 850 and 650 respectively on average while solo and 1k and 750+ on a full party and can crit for 1.4k+ and both take 1.94s to cast. I could use Selene if I wanted to lower it to 1.84s and if I'm really really lucky she might just hit a crit heal and trigger the 20% Spell Speed trait and lower it down to 1.74 for a grand total of 4 seconds, oh and if I had stacked Spell Speed on Vanya I could get it down to 1.70 on top of everything I guess? Mind you Selene's ability lasts 30s and has a 60s second recast and the crit fairy heal trait only has a 20% chance of triggering if a crit even hits, so most of the time casting speed will be 1.94s or 1.90s, I guess 1.88~ if I go full Spell Speed Vanya?

    I guess your hypothetical faster but lower healing might work in a game that allows that, except it doesn't exist in this game at all.

    That makes no sense. They stated it would be this way, people knew that going into ARR it's not like it was magically sprung up on us last minute. Also, it's class specific spec and Arcanist is a class, SCH/SMN are 2 jobs ontop of a class - You give them 60 points you have to give everyone else 60 points and....

    CONGRATULATIONS!

    You introduced a slew of balance problems.

    This is intended and it should be the way it works, the only reason why its a problem now is because arcanist is the only job with 2 classes and it seems unfair. when each class has a second job, then it will be more acceptable. you should have to choose your specializations, one character can be every job, but it doesn't mean you should be able to 100% everything. hence, a branching system.
