I think you need to find a group, whether it's a static through a linkshell or by joining a FC that raids Coil, that you can consistently run with. If you can run with the same people week in and week out you'll begin to gel and know everyone's nuances and work well together.
People are pugging all the way up to turn 5 with no voice coms or anything so either the op or the people she plays with all need to L2P or realize they just aren't very good at this game and will take longer than everyone else to do the same content
Also remember that the game was released with a missing step before coil. Jumping into coil from pre-coil content without really grinding for gear was a huge leap. Even with Gear Grinding, it is very difficult. However, soon that intermediate step will be available to everyone, and that should help people learn mechanics and strategies that need to be mastered by coil.
I play on PS3 and have 1-4 downed so far. Once you have a group and all learn the fights they are very easy to be honest. Memorize the patterns and you win basically.
I stopped caring about coil because every time I get to turn 4 my group falls apart. everyone starts getting angry at each other for little mistakes. Then I log in today and see people name calling and not wanting to coil with people because the have all DL gear and no 90 gear. I hear people saying Allegan gear will go up to ilvl95 and now people are saying they will only coil with you if you have at least 2-3 ilvl90 gear pieces of af2 gear. Seriously, I stopped caring a long time ago. SE has really taken this game overboard and people are simply doing too much and treating this game as if its a job when its not. there are other things to life than this game.
My group been working on coil for around a month now(Working on T4 currently on P5), doing it 3 nights a week and if I were to be honest on what kind of changes I think should be made then:
T1: ADS while simple can get hectic but I say leave it as is. Caddy on the other hand needs damage nerf, I'd say around 10%.
T2: Nothing here is a real challenge but is somewhat of a DPS check since you only have 12 minutes in it with the exception of Allagan rot, it requires more teamwork and communication than what you'll normally get from a non-static PT without voice chat. I'd say if it wasn't for the rot anybody can win this with decent equips. nerf rot by either increasing the rot timer or reducing the after buff timer and/or adding an onscreen countdown when when rot is at 5secs.
T3: Biggest joke in the universe, can be facerolled and serve no reason what so ever. Why does this turn exist? it offers no challenge or loot.
T4: Brutal DPS check but doesn't require much communication, just adding 10secs between waves is what I would like to see.
No idea on what turn5 is like, I'm sure I'll get to see it soon but I until then I have nothing to say about it.
I can say with certainty that my biggest issue with coils is that voice chat is a requirement, I don't see how you can micro-manage some mechanics by typing (Of course in a static you can get to a level where nobody needs to tell anybody anything and still win but that isn't the norm for most groups) and that is screwing PS3players and pick up groups.
