Why is Every Race's Sit Emote at Chairs and Benches so Boring?

While this is something planned for the future, the development team will be looking into making it possible to change your postures when you sit down on chairs, benches, and the like. We'd like to make it so you might start off by sitting in a nice straight posture, but then eventually break posture and slouch, and the way this occurs would be different for each race.

Please make people who afk in benches fall asleep after something like 15 minutes inactivity

Please also make people who have been communicating via Tell or FC/LS put one hand over their ear for the next 30 seconds like how they do when Minfilia called players during the main quest.

It feels weird to talk into the air with the mouth animation.

I personally prefer the Highlander Female's sit emote over the Midlander's because it seems more interesting and battle-ready to me. But ITA about the sit-on-seat emote being kinda awful. My first thought was "Is she waiting to talk to the principal or something?" XD I hope that a "relaxed sit" emote will be available soon. Good luck, design team!

This will be great if and only if the posture break and slouch are under the control of the player and not on a set timer.

Could it be emotes that change your posture, if you prefer one sitting position over another?

This! Like a /slouch that, when activated while sitting, adjusts your character's position and (most importantly) holds it!

This may be a bit off-topic, but I always didn't like the fact there was no /squat.

If I'm watching my brother craft something for me (I don't have ARM to 50) I would very much enjoy hunkering down in a squat pose in front of him and ridicule his efforts with emotes that didn't break my squat.

That being said, different sit animations will be cool. I never noticed how proper the /sit is at chairs and stuff until seeing screens on this thread. Most of the time when I'm sitting I'm on a ledge or a rock or something to make it look like my legs are dangling....

But they never dangle...they stay straight as my arrows
